DDP Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki(and Volks news 70)

The Bunny's name is Charles Donatello in the anime.

Oh, that's a lot better to work with... except the first thing that ran through my mind was 'Don Bunny' which sounds pretty close to donburi. #IThinkItStuck

Charles Donatello does sound a lot better. It fits her Xenoglosia persona a lot better too. The IM@S wiki is focused more on the games, but they did mention the bunny's full name in the Iori trivia section which I completely missed.

 

If you're at all interested she was a very serious, I'd even go so far as to say driven, character in Xenoglosia. She was a total stereotypical tsundere too. Despite that she also ended up providing most of the fan service in the series.

 

She was also routinely called Forehead because she had a big shiny forehead. Her hairstyle in Xenoglosia didn't have bangs, and it's color was dark brown to black.

 

She was a really cool character overall. I'm way more interested in the DD now that I realize Iori is "forehead girl."

 

I really feel like I should see the pop idol anime, but as far as I know it never got an English sub DVD release.

I really don't love the idol master defaults with the weird shiny pink material, it's too bad. I wonder how easy/hard it will be the have other clothes fit this new body a

The info page for the DDP body says clothes for MDD and MSD will fit. I suspect Azone/Obitsu 50 clothes will fit too.

I wasn't prepared at all for how much I would like this release . . . but when I saw the photo I knew immediately that Iori & Yayoi's sculpts are perfect for a couple of OCs! Especially since Yayoi is like a younger MOMO, the sculpt I originally planned to use for one of them.

 

Thanks to this I can see the similarities between Yayoi and MOMO and now I want her I was so disappointed that it wasn't Sakura but now I'm looking forward to the preorder!

Tbh CCS Sakura would also have been dangerous. . . and maybe considering she would have only been one tempting doll vs two tempting dolls, maybe I should be a little more disappointed she isn't the preorder. Though if they'd announced Tomoyo too, I'd probably be in the same boat, so. . .

Personally I'm a little surprised that more people hadn't seen the similarities between Momo and Ranka Lee before. The two we have are related and I can hardly see any difference between Ranka Lee's head sculpt and Yayoi's. As for the shiny pink material, that's what sold it for me and I find the additional outfits just meh.

I read that and immediately thought that just sounds so Miku.

The three of them always seem overly amused at playing with the varying sounds between Japanese and English. Especially Len. I'm not sure if he just didn't study well enough or if he simply does it on purpose.

Thank's for the link to more scans. There are some outfits I like. I'm not big on the dolls, but that default outfit overall/skirt for Yayoi I want, if it wasn't shiny pink, but I'd still take it if someone wants to get rid of theirs. But with it said that DDP can fit in MMD clothes, I wonder how that will work. DDP clothes will look big on MMD and MMD clothes will look small on DDP? As for the holding hands, I wish they'd come to Volks USA. Same goes for the chairs and desk.

I'm guessing it'll be a bit like how it goes with MSD/MDD clothes and the Obitsu50cm: Torso usually fits, hips sometimes do, but the length on the sleeves and legs can be a bit "off". I can't be the only one who wants actual DDP *measurements* to confirm, though.

 

And yeah, it'd be nice to have a second shot at those holding hands. I NEED THEM.

Azone does release clothes fairly regularly, but they treat them more the way figure companies treat their releases--goes up for preorder, and usually if you miss the preorder you're hosed. I absolutely SUCK at keeping track of when preorders for Azone stuff go up though. (Since it's tangentially DDP-relevant, does anyone here have better Azone-fu than I do? A release schedule, a blog where preorders are announced, etc?)

I watch the official Azone twitter accounts and pay attention to the catalogues. Unfortunately the catalogues never actually tell you WHEN the preorders will start, but it's usually a month later, so I just check amiami every day (granted i do that anyway cos I like seeing the new hobby stuff) I've never missed out on Azone clothes I've wanted that I've known about in advance.

Obviously being able to read Japanese gives you an edge here but if you just want to keep an eye on catalogue releases the official Twitter is doll_azone and the staff Twitter is Azone_Ringo, she regularly posts teasers of upcoming stuff.

I have to admit the prospect of Volks outfits in DDP sizes for my Azone Mami Tomoe is pretty exciting. For that matter when Iori arrives Mami may even take her body for a spin. Depending on how close the skin color is and how well her PMM clothing fits she might make a permanent move onto a DDP body in the future.

There's also a blog called the Dolly Insider that posts mostly Asian fashion doll releases and preorders, including Azone 1/3 and Azone Pure Neemo.

So DDP's known measurements so far are about the same as an M-bust Obi48. This is AWESOME news to me! The DDP girl/s I planned were originally supposed to be Obi48s so this is perfect~ I hope DDP clothing can fit Azone AZO2 girls as well, but I fear they may be too curvy and thick? Even Azone-made 50cm clothing is too tight on them if it doesn't specifically say it's for AZO2. I guess we'll know for sure once Volks starts releasing DDP outfits. I'm hoping for a LOT of cuteness next year ^^

Looking forward to seeing how &everything fits on this new body, both azone and mdd outfits. Hopefully we will get some really cute ddp specific outfits from Volks....

The part I'm not looking forward to is the fight that Rainie and Ringo might have. Ranie adores her hybrid 45cm Obitsu body but Ringo tollerates it at best. Ringo currently has most of a 45cm frame, the arms, legs & feet, but her bust, torso, & hands are MDD and she has a temp dowel rod spine b/c the Obitsu one made the torso & bust too far apart. She's only tollerated the Obitsu body b/c the MDD wasn't quite the right fit & a DDS is WAY too tall.

I was only after Yayoi because I'm planning on making Yayoi a little brother for Jorgen but after seen that mock up I can see Iori also has a great potential as a boy and now I want him too damn!! time to save up for these two!

I'm also surprised Volks USA is getting them. I'm not sure whether to order from Volks USA or Volks International. I suppose the International site will get the dolls in earliest but who knows where the exchange rate will be when it's time for payment. Didn't Volks USA require a down payment for the Snow Miku pre orders?
