Pictures would be great. At $20 I was thinking of taking a chance on it in the lottery, but I'd rather not if it won't work.

 

Is it short in the torso, or is it just the hood that won't work? I never put the hoods up anyways.

It fits in the shoulders and arms, but it's just a bit short in the torso. That tells us something about the outfits that do and don't work.

Planning on buying some clothing from Alice's Collections so I measured her. Most of the measurements line up with a 1/4 scale girl body except the hips, their chart states hips to be between 17-19cm, but on the doll I measured around 21 or 22cm. Is it safe to order items for a 1/4 doll even though one measurement is off. I've ordered shoes and socks for 1/4 and they fit (tight) and tops should fit, but will skirts, shorts, and pants be a problem.

 

Also she has a big butt.

Well I noticed with my ddp she is definitely in between on sizes, i bought the pink yukata set for mdd and the bottom skirt doesn't fit her. But the jeans I haven't are to big (DD size) she fits some of the stretch skirts I own that are for DD's but I haven't experimented more.

I bought a few items from Alice's Collections so we'll see maybe in a couple of weeks what I can stretch over her giant butt. I'm guessing full dresses should be fine, but might run into issues with shorts and pants depending on the material they were made with.

With pants the waist size can be an issue even if the hips fit. You can be left with a big gap between her waist and hips if the waist on the pants is too large.

 

With skirts I can see how the size of the hips could make the skirt hang in a funny way.

 

Bottom line is Volks needs to put out regular clothing made for DDP.

So I'm looking to get a coolcats stand for Yayoi when she comes in. However I'm having trouble deciding which size to go with MDD or DDS. I'm leaning towards DDS since the MDD max height threshold may not be high enough. May I get someone's opinion on this?

I have coolcats DDS leg clamp and saddle stands, but my Iori won't be here until late next week is my guess. Once she's here I plan on testing them on her to see if they work. I can post what I find at that time.

 

I am guessing if the DDP legs are thinner than DDS legs that the leg clamp ones won't work well. Max tightened they just fit a DDS upper thigh. Saddle is going to be a question of height and saddle size.

A DDS in heels will fit a coolcats DD saddle stand without issue, so I can see how she works on the DDS saddle with and without her shoes.

 

Your best bet may end up being the Volks MDD stand with the new DDP adaptor, or even cooler is the Volks chair stand.

Yeah I think your right, I'm just so used to using the MDD coolcats stand with Cirno. I'll have to settle with Volks saddle stand.

 

Oh I'm definitely picking up the chair stand. Now to decide black or white. I'm leaning white.

Can confirm that the invisible stands are AMAZING. They're perfect for DD and they even hold up my larger and 70cm resin dolls (Fifth Motif Venitu, large Volks dolls, SD17) I only have the big ones, but if anyone wants pictures or measurements let me know. The stands are sturdy and are able to hold DDs in the air like they say

So judging by the measurements on the site, would it be better to get the 1/4 size or 1/3 for DDP.

 

"1/4 size: base diameter - 16cm, pole length - 40cm (can clamp on 1/4 doll's waist, 1/3 doll's thigh)."

 

"1/3 size: base diameter - 20cm, pole length - 50cm (can clamp on 1/3 doll's waist, 70cm doll's thigh)."

 

40cm comes up to around Iori's chest so maybe that wouldn't leave much room to play around with?

For waist clamp stands I've found it's much better if they clamp around the waist and not the hips or the chest. You can fit a jacket over them, and then you don't see the stand clamp.

 

The big disadvantage of waist clamps, at least to me, is that the dolls can't be removed as easily. With a saddle stand you can just lift them right off.

 

The drawback of saddle stands is they look best under a skirt. If the doll is wearing pants or something see through like the baby doll nightwear then the saddle just looks bad.
