DDP Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki(and Volks news 70)

So I pulled her bust off earlier today. Then I put the arms in the frame, and they do indeed click into place. Not sure how since there is nothing that I can see for them to click onto inside of the frame, but you do hear an audible click with the bust off, and they are secure once in.

 

The legs at the hips didn't seem to be any different than the DDS/DDIII leg hip assembly, but I didn't pull the lower torso frame out to try those. I also didn't disassemble the arms at the elbow, or the legs at the knee. I would say though if you are having trouble getting stuff to stay in examine the parts to see if they're supposed to lock onto something when seated.

 

One really nice thing about the new body is the shoulders look so much better. The upper arm seats into the bust more like a ball seating into a socket. She can also bend pretty far forward while sitting, and her legs can fold into a partial lotus position. Her legs fit the hips much more nicely too, so the shape of her body overall has a much smoother look to it.

 

Her feet swivel side to side too.

So I've had my Yayoi for about 2 weeks. I had her posed with her elbow bent (hand raised behind her head) for several days (I usually just pose my guys and leave them for a while).

 

I took her down to redress her, and noticed that where the edge of her forearm piece was touching the vinyl her upper arm (near her elbow) has dented? I didn't think her arm was pressed together that tightly, and I've never had any of my DD's become dented before. It's not a big deal, it's just weird? Does anyone know if heating the part would un-dent it?

 

I'm not sure anyone else has experienced this, but be careful if your girl has pressure against her vinyl for several days.

I've had this happen with one of my DDs... I've not tried boiling and it's not gone away on its own. So if you find away to fix it let me know too xD

 

By dented we mean just that: the edge of the arm is dented inwards.

 

Also, if no one has said anything about them, the necklace and both large star shaped hair pieces are made in two pieces and are magnetic! This makes them soooo easy to get on and off the girls! I know it's not really a big thing but I thought it was pretty dang cool.

Though around my Yayoi's default pigtails the stars were a bit finicky to put on. (maybe its just me though hahah)

Ooh, thanks for the pics of Yayoi's outfit on Minako, Billy! She's looking real good. If the shoes fit as nice as they look, I'm really excited for more Volks-made DDP shoes! It'd be nice to have more options for that foot size.

 

No problem! Thanks about Minako, I like it on her too. As for her boots, they fit the 50cm Obitsu feet really well! No issues getting them on and off her.

 

It's too bad that it won't fit on MDD-sized girls though. I was hoping to get that outfit for a girl who will either be an MDD or Obi40, but their torsos must really be too short after all. :c I'm surprised it was still too loose in the bust area though since going by measurements I've seen MDD L busts are bigger than DDP S busts.

 

Yeah I was hoping it would work too but such is my luck. I'll try and get some pics of how it fits on an MDD girl sometime this coming week so people can see it.

OH MY GOD THAT LOOKS AMAZING!!! It's totally perfect! Surprisingly it still looks more like older Yonah. So I may just do that version of her, in which case what body I use is probably rather flexible. I just realized actually, was that wig choice on purpose?

I finally got around to trying the coolcats DDS stands on DDP.

 

The DDS leg clamp stand will work in a pinch, but my advice would be don't go out and buy one as a DDP stand. The leg clamp itself dosn't clamp onto the leg, and the stand only really works if you extend it up high enough so that she is sitting on the clamp. It's perfectly stable if you do that though. I've used the leg clamp stand for DD, but for DD it's probably best to get a 15 cm base not the 12 cm.

 

The DDS saddle stand works perfectly imo. You just have to adjust the U part by bending it inwards a bit, and she sits on it perfectly with heels or bare feet. I would still say a stand really designed for DDP would be better, but I would have no issue buying a Coolcats DDS saddle stand for my DDPs.

 

I can't compare it to the Volks MDD stand with DDP adapter. I'm probably going to buy that one if they have them in stock in a few months. Once I have that I'll post a comparison.

 

The C Clamp waist stand they market for DDS is also used for DD. I wouldn't really recommend that one for DDS, and I don't see how it could ever work on DDP.

 

Their DDS Saddle Stand is advertised as working on Obitsu 50, and VMF50 (I'm not familiar with that one.) The leg clamp stand is listed as DDS only.

Ok, I wonder what's the holdup on my order. Paid over two weeks ago. I was wave one but had other finances to pay for before Dollfies so I paid later. I will email them next week just in case. See what's going on. I've had the same order status since day one basically.

Assuming you got a receipt from Volks saying it was paid? Maybe yours is shipping after the batch 2 ones because you paid early November.

On their pre-order site they did say total shipping time for each wave was expected to be two weeks (subject to change.) Not sure if that only refers to the shipping time for people who paid on day 1. I had Anya paid a few minutes after payment for wave 1 opened, and she shipped a day earlier than they had announced. I paid Iori four days after wave 2 payments opened and she shipped a day after they were expected to start.

 

I am just guessing that the later payments for wave 1 could get prioritized after folks who paid early for wave 2.

Yes, pretty is the correct description, but more importantly the poses look more natural. I think they will look better in a lot of clothing too, but at this point I have little in DDP size.

 

If the DD-F3 is as nice I am replacing all of my DDII frames with DD-F3 for certain.

Iori has hit the US. I'm so excited. I hope she arrives tomorrow. Crossing my fingers.

Just picked Iori up from the mail carrier today. She really had quite the journey. Went two towns over on the wrong route! I guess she was sightseeing here in GA LOL. I'm really glad to have her home as she's super adorable.

My girls were finally released from customs so should be here soon!
