DDP Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki(and Volks news 70)

Any owner pics yet from Japan? I want to see more of these girls ^^

I've been searching for them...one of my friends just got her Iori but I think she's currently unboxing her and hasn't uploaded anything.

But the box is so sparkly!

It's the same holographic finish that was on the Volks News they were in. I really love this, has there ever been a sparkly DD box before? It makes it extra exciting, it must have been such a wait for everyone.

She's a big fan of Iori so is probably keeping her as Iori, but i'm really curious to see some customised ones (for both girls).

I regret not preordering her now! She looks so pretty!

My shipping conformation was sent about an hour ago.

 

As for custom Iori, I have a blond wig I've been itching to try on her and I'm likely to switch her eyes to blue ones, or even Yayoi's temporarily until some custom ones can be made if I don't find suitable ones. I seriously can't wait to see how Yayoi's wig looks like on Ringo. Bree's old pastel one is cute, but color wise it is so very wrong. Rainie & Ringo look weird sitting next to one another and the pastel doesn't go well with her new dark green coat. I hope Iori's flat smile is simply due to the angle.

 

Yayoi's head sculpt will be another long-term project but I'm still super excited to have her.

I've been stalking twitter looking for comparisons between DDP and other bodies and now I want to see how Kagamine Rin looks as a DDP. ><

Ha, I don't doubt it, she's a big fan. I admittedly know barely anything about the franchise so I wouldn't recognize these things ^^' (I've been getting a lot more interested though! I'm currently torn because I would like to play the game and know more about the girls, but I'm scared that I'll end up wanting more or several of the DDs if I get too into it )(Edit: I had to look up this character and you're right! It looks just like him...)

To be honest, I think DDP would have suited Kagamine Rin a lot more than DDS. I think the reason her head is so big is to make her proportions as DDS work better. I love my Rin, but her giant noggin is probably the only downside -its cute, but it can make her look out of proportion with some other DDs! However, at the same time I'm glad she was DDS because it means Len is too, and if he wasnt there wouldn't be a DDS boy body, and I wouldn't have Mel.

But I have been entertaining the thought of putting my Rin on a DDP body if I can get one....although it would mean her fullset wouldnt fit her perfectly anymore. (It would also mean her head looking even bigger lol)

 

So yeah throwing out a request for the people who are getting these two to show us how the bodies look with a bunch of your other heads, especially if you have Rin! Inquiring minds gotta know.

Such nice photos! Torino, do you have any tips for finding pics of dolls on Twitter and such? I have a hard time finding stuff like that, and I want to see more custom DDs. I know a fair bit of Japanese if that helps

Not really, these (meaning Iori and the Anastasia I posted in the other thread) are just people I was already following.

I used to just search the characters name (in japanese) on the release day and mute the 10 million bot accounts based on those characters that clog up the results, or 'DD/DDS/charactername' (ie DDS鏡音リン for Rin) but that hasnt worked for these ones for some reason. It's only helpful if people tag their photos and not everyone does that. Even the pics I've seen my mutals posting (that I put on here) werent tagged in any way and wouldn't have come up in searches anyway.

I'm surprised more people aren't tagging them though, I remember it wasn't that hard to find Rin/Len pics when they first came out cos I went nuts looking for them. I suppose it's only the first day though.

Thanks for posting the photos. I had no idea they were doing special boxes for them. I was expecting the standard yellow box for all three of them.

Yellow boxes? No, no, no. Preorder girls always have custom boxes. Even the size of them changes every time. Makes them a bit annoying when trying to stack and use them for storage.

Interesting, I didn't know that about Pre-Orders. I've only done these three and the Snow Miku pre-Order.

 

The only iM@S girl I have who has a custom box is Rin Shibuya V1. I believe Ranko has one too, but I don't recall that for certain. Mio and Uzuki were yellow-box as were all of the 765 Pro girls that I have so far.

We have many DD boxes of character girls and the only one I have that's the standard yellow one is from Yukino. Our first preorder girls were Kos-Mos & M.O.M.O. but I even remember Saber Extra having a custom box and her preorder ended just before hubby and I joined the hobby roughly 5.5 years ago.

At first I just thought it was only the preorder ones that got 'special' ones, but Rin and Len got special ones too. I would say that maybe Rin and Len got special boxes because Miku did and they're from the same series... but this explanation gets kinda thrown outta the window with Asuna and Kirito... :/ Hm hm...

I wonder if it has anything to do with how many they make because it always seems to me that the yellowbox ones have less lottery winners and get way rarer and more expensive on the aftermarket...but that could just be a coincidence related to the ones I pay attention to.

no I don t think that way. I give a example : dollfie dream saber lily with a special box. And she has a high price.

I think white box come from doll that have lot of accessories, like swords, wings, big guns etc. Those accessories won't fit on the yellow box one or it will get destroyed and Volks will get lot of complain

 

However there is some case like ShibuRin ver.1 get white box because she released with Ranko, which is not fair if Rin get the yellow box one. And this apply to the Asuna ver.2, even though her clothes is simple one, since her first release and Kirito box, its more logical to get white box too.

 

For Miku box, I guess Volks use big box so she looks fancy and let more new people into this hobby and know about dollfie dream. I'm sure it's effective because I read how lot of people say Miku introduce them to this hobby

So this followed with Rin and Len twins and my guess Luka box will be the big picture box too.

Or special occasion like Sasara re-releases and pre-order dolls.

 

Just my opinion and speculation though, after all I'm not Volks staff (how I wish I am so I can be surrounded by lovely girls everyday )

You're right! I actually had no idea she preordered both of them. She's brand new to DDs (she's known for pure neemo photos)so these two are her first.
