DDP Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki(and Volks news 70)

I'm interested in getting just Yayoi (just head, body, eyes and wig), but I don't care for the outfit so that would be up for grabs...I am just on the fence about pre-ordering though XD ughhh...

Same here. I absolutely love her sculpt but I can't imagine that I would ever use her outfit.... Ugh, I suppose we could always try to find someone who wants the opposite.... XD

I knew the moment I saw Iori I would be pre-ordering her~

It will be my first pre-order with volks so hooray for firsts! I've never had much luck with the lottery so I'm quite happy I can order this way

 

I like Yayoi too but not enough to put her on pre-order. I do love her outfit so I might look at splits once they're set up and debate with myself about getting it haha.

The only thing that sucks is the year long wait x,x...wonder when Volks will sell the DDP body separately...

Generally when they do body releases like this, the preoders are the first run and becoming a standard release is generally about 6+ months after the preorder deliveries. So in my expeiance, if you are itching for a body it's faster and easier doing a preorder. Especially when you factor in the possability that when the bodies become standard there is a chance they could be sold out consistantly for a while. I'm assuming this size especially since it's a height that we have been begging Volks for years now. Sure the 8-ish month wait is long but I find it to be perferable.

Current state of the Volks site is very slow, pages take from 5-20 seconds to load(Sometimes takes you into an error page)

It's taking me about 2 minutes to load each Volks page... so if anyone got an extra Lazuline Nadeshiko or change their mind, I'll happily pay cost for them

One thing I would say that may help is wait for the page to fully load before clicking on anything. Especially when you are doing stuff with your cart. The URL changes a few times as it loads, and if you click on something before that is done I can see it causing an error page or clearing your cart cookie.

 

I think I have an easier time of it because I tend to go for the SD16 items in these events, and except for the panties those don't seem to sell out as fast as the DD and MDD items.

I was able to grab a Cool my first star set. I love it, my girl is going to be so angry.

Volks posted a blog entry about the display dolls, and they will in fact be at 'all stores nationwide' from today. It also seems like they're only going to be on display for a limited time and they listed those times and once again they never seem to list the Fu kuoka store, but they didnt do that for Rin/Len either (hence why I was so surprised to see them in the store before).

I'm not able to make it there today but am going in tomorrow (luckily I have other business so if they arent there it's not a waste of a trip) but I'm a bit worried that they havent yet said if photos are allowed yet. (they said very explicitly that photos are 100% ok with Rin and Len). So I apologise in advance if I get to see them and can't take pics for here

 

What does really interest me is that besides all the preorder display dolls they will apparently also have the DDP body (or at least just its frame) on display and said that if you ask the staff you can play around with it to see its functionality. I can't confirm that Fu kuoka will have it as well but if it does, does anyone have any kind of request of what kind of poseability I should be checking for? Since I'm still pretty new to DDs and all it might be difficult for me to compare it. I also can't guarantee that they'll let me take photos of it. I'm sure there will be other people in the store who want to play around with it so I might just let them do it and see what they do.

 

They're really hyping up the increased poseability, but the sample photos of the poses arent really any different to what a DD can already do to my knowledge so I'm very curious.

Maybe Volks USA will do a lottery for the DD Gathering items along with the other October outfits. I've had really good luck with the USA lotteries, but again that might be because I am usually after SD16 items. Don't sweat it if you can't. I'm sure photos will make it here eventually, and it's not worth buying yourself trouble over it if they say no.

The one area where I think DD lack in pose-ability is the hips and waist. That has more to do with the vinyl than the skeleton though. The DIII body was much better in that respect than the DII body. It would be interesting to see how well the DDP body handles sitting up poses. The spine of the F3 skeleton looks pretty interesting in that respect. I would say it would be interesting to try it with just the skeleton, and then try it again with the vinyl parts and see what the limitations are.

 

The great strength of DD over resins is their ability to hold a pose. Resins are at the mercy of the tension in their elastic. My SD16 Ami is much more limited in the poses I can do with her arms than my DD are, and she is the most recent iteration of the Volks SD16 body as far as I know.

Sorry I should have thought to add a link. The Volks News 70 items were split into two collections. One was the October outfits, and the other was DD Gathering 2016. DD Gathering has the Rin/Len pre-order outfits, a school desk, a stuffed animal, kimonos, R type eyes, and the Idolm@aster My First Star outfit pre-orders. It's a whole lot of awesome.

Yeah I found it after I freaked. Had no idea they would be so expensive. Seriously, that's just total ouch. And I really wanted that one for Len. Looks like it's not gonna happen. I could have the $$ saved up in a couple of weeks but the likelyhood that they would still be avialable is highly doubtful. And that's if I had nothing else going on at the moment with DD funds. Not to mention that's a lot to pay for something I can do. Sure the shoes and hat would be hard but that's nothing new. And how does Len's shorts close?? There is no opening in the front! That's one thing I'm interested in seeing. Did they just put a snap in the back?

 

On the other hand I was really surprised to see that payment for the preorder girls is in Fall 2017. I was thinking it would be Spring. The Snow Miku preorders really threw me off. Well that makes me feel better that I have a bit more breathing room than I thought. Now if I could just get Ringo to shut up about ordering an extra DDP for her. I swear she's taken a Rainie pill and an evil pill together. Threatening that she will take Gizella's DDP body when it gets here and no one has a choice in the matter. Every time the DDP comes up Ringo starts ranting and raving at the top of her lungs. I've known that she doesn't like the Obitsu body but I'm afraid she will be taller than Rainie, but Ringo is supposed to be the younger sister. (I'm a visual person so things like that matter.) And it doesn't help that Ralph was on every body at the time between an MDD to his current Smart Doll boy body. I really wasn't planning on preordering 4 girls... but part of me is afraid that Ringo will keep it up until she gets her own. Maybe Raven can get her to quit once he gets home. I guess within a day I'll know the outcome.

Sounds like you have your hands full. My Chihaya bites when she gets angry, or doesn't get what she wants. Usually this ends up being when I am changing her outfit. Something about her "dignity," but it's hard to tell for sure when she is trying to speak while chewing on that soft spot between thumb and index finger.

Still not quite sure how this is going to turn out, especially since Gizella tends to pinch. Normally so goes after the cats (and calls them 'those things to pinch') but it woudn't take much for her to go after Ringo. Gizella's maners aren't quite as tamed as they should be. I'm starting to wonder if Gizella will just have to wait for the DDP to be standard, because that's just too much to pay for just a body.

Also just placed my pre order for Iori and her Twinkle Star set. The wait is gonna be so long but surely well worth it. Chichi (Chihaya) is more excited than me I think.
