DDP Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki(and Volks news 70)

I get why a lot of people seem disappointed with Yayoi, but in my case considering the character I want to turn her into is incredibly shy with a rather cautious demeanor around people it's perfect for my needs. If she did have that characteristic smile it'd just be too different so seeinbg that shy look come out in torino's pictures actually makes me more confident about her. I just hope Iori's head doesn't look too small on a DDS body.

After thinking about this for some time, I've realized again I'll think about it less if I just do it. I've placed the order for Iori.

 

I think I'll only regret this if Sakura is the December lotto.

 

Thanks for the additional images Torino! And wow Wolf, those images from Xenoglossia take me back. It's been so long since I've seen Makoto with her original, more boyish haircut! The character designs of several of the girls were revamped for the 3rd home console games, and they've generally kept the same appearances since(more or less--outfits change all the time of course and sometimes the hairstyles get tweaked a bit depending on the situation). Personally, my image of these two are how they look in their newest solo cd covers from the previous game:

 

 

I guess it would be a bit much to expect DD Yayoi to look quite THAT genki though since DDs tend to have much more subdued expressions, but it would be really cute and unique. Iori looks fine for the most part to me.. Maybe her wig can have a bit of a wave to it and that the hair framing her face could be a bit thicker and noticeable? But that's just me nitpicking. Putting aside my own expectations towards them because I've been listening/watching them for so long, I think they look great~ I'm happy that they work perfectly well for a lot of people here just as they are!

Found more pics, looks like the other stores have the other outfits too. I personally think these blue ones are so much cuter than their defaults.

 

Not gonna post them all but if you want to keep an eye on uploads (since they only really started a day or so ago) it I just looked up DDP水瀬伊織 (Iori) and DDP高槻やよい (Yayoi) on twitter.

Oh man, after seeing the Twitter pictures, I'm loving Iori the most!! I didn't think I would preorder, but she's making me cave.

I do totally get that. Lot's of people here see them as custom characters which is cool. Given how many were unhappy with this pre-order being IM@S I am glad to see so many who are into it for any reason.

I have noticed that they have a whole range of expressions in the various images from the games and anime. Yayoi isn't always genki, and Iori does smile on occasion.

Her wig makes more sense now that I have seen those images, and admittedly I am not sure how easily the you could do her Xenoglossia hairstyle with a doll wig. I am pretty sure it couldn't be done without a headband as a permanent accessory.

 

One thing I will say is that the Volks IM@S line has a lot of smiling faces. Every IM@S doll I have except Makoto is smiling, and even Makoto's mouth has upturned corners. They did need some variation. In Yayoi's case they seem to have gone for an elegant look instead of genki.

Thank you for the great pictures, Torino! a part of me wants Yayoi but another part of me doesn't want it because of the new body (new body = new wardrobe = more money!! ).

Perhaps, but Yayoi's not the best choice for that She's not exactly "unsmiling," but the cheerful poses they're giving her doesn't help.

I don't think she's grumpy; she just a classic Tsundere. From MAL on the subject of Tsundere mannerisms:

You are closer than any bins are though and I don't want to harm the environment so I guess I'll give them to you. It's not like I want you to take them or anything. No I didn't sustain this burn on my hand from baking these cookies, that burn came from playing with candles. It's not as though I like you or anything."

 

Iori has what is nearly that same exact exchange with Haruka in Xenoglossia.

 

On a separate note, now I can't get the idea of a DD Madoka Ayukawa out of my head. I think I am going to make a custom of her. In fact I'd be inclined to make her with an SD16 if I can find the right head.

Just letting people know, Volksjp has now begun confirming orders for any of the DD gathering 2016 items. As for preorders My First Star(Cute), (Cool), and (Passion) or Senbonzakura Dress set (Rin)/(Len) I am not sure if they are sending confirmations for those. But seems like Volksjp has picked up the pace with their orders, I didn't have to wait almost a whole month for a confirmation. Hopefully they ship it tomorrow or the day after.

I'm still kind of torn if I'm going to keep my pre-order or not. I like Iori and her DD's really cute, but I'm sure there's going to be a lot more DDPs, and with characters that I really love.

I did the same. I love her face! These are adorable pics and I love the poses.

Try not to touch it as much as possible, with the Miku wig I messed it up because I was freaked out about knots(she was my first doll), turns out I over brushed it(with tangle teezer) and added too much product(wig mists etc.)

 

Now that I got a new one, I never touch it, never brush it or anything, I just lightly fix her hair with VERY light water wax(rarely) and my finger.

 

I would assume it would be the same with these new ones.

I noticed in the latest Volks News some MDD clothes say DDP, but some don't, like the maid ones at the bottom here.
