Caught red-handed! ~

Recommended Posts

Orchid

Hi my friends!! Long time no see!!

I've been quite busy lately (I got my first job, yay! ), but I also continued collecting Dollfie Dream, specially clothes haha, and keep practicing photography with them.

This time I wanted to ask you a little bit of help: I entered the Ldoll Festival photo contest with this picture about Neb: I would be eternally grateful if you help me with your vote (and Neb will stop eating macarons on the quiet >u< ). It's easy, go to this link and click on the pink heart next to my picture, it's #11:

There are only 3 days left!

Marvellous photo! I voted for you--best of luck in the contest!

If you don't mind me asking, how did you do the lighting for this shot? Is it all natural light with reflectors? It looks very professional!

At home: Mei (DDP Lucy custom), Aku (DDB Takane custom)

En route: L. (DD Matoi)

Firstly, that's just lovely. I've always been a fan of your works and this is no exception. Marvelous job as always. I voted for your entry because I do think it's one of the best, and the fact that you know just the right principle to a perfect photo or banner.

Darn! So close! Considering the quality of the submitted photos, I was certain you'd win. Still, 2nd place is quite an achievement since it was your first doll photo contest entry. At least you get an invitation to the festival and your photo will be exhibited at the festival.

Must admit I'm confused by the winning entry. Can't see how it depicts being "caught re-handed". Maybe it's too artsy for my brain

Haha yep, I think the winner pic is good, but the text is illegible for a 3x2m poster. Apart from this, its number of votes intrigue me: the average votes for the majority of pics are 100-180 (the third place has 173) and the winner has 1179. I got 649 and I asked for votes here, in my fb page, my twitter and IG. For me it's like a bit out of range, I don't want to think this way but... :/

Here are the 3 winners: http://ldollfestival.com/photo-winners/?lang=en

Don't worry, you're not alone in being intrigued by the number of votes.

Sadly I think it's a result of who has the most number of online friends connections. That's why I generally dislike contests with public votes. That said though, I think public voting can sometimes be a good thing since it may cause the votes to be cast in favor for "likeable" entries rather than "artsy-farts" entries.
