Obitsu Kanna... Boy?

I didn't intend for this head to turn into a boy. I swear I didn't! I ordered it along with the Designer head because I was a dope and forgot to check the wig size to see the difference.

There is a BIG difference. I had to order another Designer head the other day to use for the character I got Kanna for. The original plan just wouldn't work with such a puny head. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with Kanna after I've been calling it the Gremlin for the last few months. Apparently that was a bad idea.

 

I really like the head a lot except for the fact that it's really out of scale, even on the 45cm body. If Obitsu had a body like this but half the size it would be perfect. But as it is even on the small body he just looks out of proportion. I'm seriously tempted to make a fairy or some kind of fey boy out of him if he just had a properly sized body. Does anyone have suggestions? At this point I'd even think about a resin just as long as he looks right. I'm just totally clueless when it comes to bodies when it isn't Volks, Obitsu, or Smart Dolls.

Wow, I knew the Kanna head was small but seeing it next to Nicholas, Rainie, and the designer head really shows the size difference! I was interested in getting a Kanna head too but after seeing how small my Mizuki head looks next to my designer head and SQ Lab heads I decided not to get Kanna after all since it's even smaller.. It's a shame because the sculpt does look pretty nice!

 

It may be too tiny(and it's more of a female body ^^"), but maybe the SQ Labs's 31cm KSG L body might be okay? I don't have any of their bodies, but the heads I have match obitsu white perfectly well(better than the match with my normal skin DDdy bust anyhow.. even though their resin was originally supposed to be a match for DD normal xD). I did get my heads secondhand and I'm not sure how much they yellowed though.

I hadn't looked at SQ Labs bodies in years. When they first came out I thought they were interesting but we already had DD and it wasn't much different at that point. But the 26cm KSG-Ac body looks ADORABLE! Knowing it's resin, the bust can be sanded down and other parts can be modded so things bulge right for a boy. I'm trying so hard not to crack up right now that I'm contemplating my first resin body, modded into a boy, to make a hybrid... Just like Tamayuki but in different aspects.

 

Plus the body is so freaking adorable!! If the body happens to be a little bit too small at least I'll know where to get heads to fit. I've been wanting to do some fairies for ages now it looks like I can finally think about it more seriously. Heads are easy to find, but the right body? Loads more difficult. I've really wondered about resins for more years than I can remember. I found them I think before Raven and I started collecting our 10 American Girls. His first reaction was a complpete and flat out no simply because of the cost. Little did he know what our life would be about 14-15 years later...

 

As for 'the Gremlin' he seems to be a rude little bugger... If one of the SQ bodies fit him then there is a very good chance that he will be made into one of the boys from 'the Pixie Guard' in my fantasy world. The only thing about it that has me concerned is if he drags the other three with him... Long term I think only Gizella would appreciate them all being around. On the plus side, it might force Yuriko to think the DD boys and Dolly 'aren't quite so bad'. By comparison, Dolly would be a well-behaved gentleman.

Thanks for the compare photos on those! I'm excited to see boy dolls, but in this case, I'd sell the head to get what you really had in mind.
