sinclair Posted September 24, 2016 While changing Miku's clothes this evening I noticed that her full bodysuit is dirty. The bodysuit got stained instead of her skin, or so I hope. It's the Volks Miku bodysuit, so it's not like I can just replace it. How do I clean it, can I just throw it in the wash, in a lingerie bag? What will that do to the 01 "tattoo" on it's arm? Anna-neko Posted September 24, 2016 before everyone jumps in with the usual replies of lil garment baggie and machines set to low.. blah blah blah here's how I've cleaned my girl's clothes (that have been stained to hell & back with dandelion & grass!) First up - we'll just do this in the sink! Small, manageable, easy to see whats happening If there's a major stain - pretreat with TIDE pen or Shout. You know, apply to affected area, carefully rub in, give it a minute to just sit there. Next up, start with scrubbing those pretreated spots under warm (warm, not hot!) running water. This way you can see how it's coming out (and keep eye on any printed areas.. in your case the Miku numbers i guess?) & keep your entire piece from being submerged just yet Finally, swish full item in the sink, in warm~ish water. Swish around, don't scrub! Thoroughly rinse with cold water Wring out and either hang up to dry over towel rack or if shrinkage is a worry pin in slightly stretched out position over a towel
BeyondTime Posted September 24, 2016 What's above is exactly what I do with protective head caps that have absorbed dye from wig caps, and it works perfectly. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
Cauldroness Posted September 25, 2016 Just a word of caution that warm water will cause some stains to set and become harder to get out. Warm water is perfect for grass, mud, or grease from your hands. If you ever get blood, food, or drinks on fabric, you want icy-cold water. Sometimes I actually rub the stain with an ice cube! I'm also a big fan of Dawn dish soap (Pure Essentials & Platinum are clear and good for whites, otherwise I use the default blue kind) as a stain remover. Get the fabric wet, rub a little bit of Dawn in with a soft-bristled brush, let it set for a few minutes, and then rinse. Doll Photos & Doll Jewelry Sales: Follow me on Instagram! Your investment in the body suit has paid off. This is exactly what bodysuits are for, getting stained first to give you a warning before the stain migrates to the doll's vinyl body. Cleaning the stain out of the bodysuit will be infinitely easier than removing it from your doll.
sinclair Posted September 26, 2016 Yes, I am glad this is the problem I am facing. I guess I need to go buy a Tide pen and get cleaning. And now that it's cooled off some, I can finally get cold water at the tap I can wash all her clothes a couple times to help dilute the dye in them.
