People's much wished brown skin is coming...

Oh, thanks so much for the report Torino! I was pretty bummed that they didn't have the tan D'Coords on display last month while I was there, but I'm glad that the DDdy/06 one is there now. And available for regular sale too! The timing still hurts a bit though (I really wanted to see them, at least! The natural skin 1/3 Azone wasn't on display at the time either so it was doubly disappointing orz)

 

Here's hoping for even more to come..

Ugh, never mind. After I decided to get her and went back, I literally approached the D'coord counter right as some guy was getting the last one. I asked if they'd have more in and they said no. I'm still really bummed about it because I was really looking forward to it all day and had even gotten some clothes for her at Dollpa :') if I had been a MINUTE earlier...! Seriously, it's a special kind of disappointment when you actually see the last one get taken away, it would be less painful to get there later and not know how close I was :')

 

Anyway, none of the other DDs in the current round of D'coords have sold out so the silver lining is that it's proof that there's definitely demand for these girls. I actually saw a few of them in the owners display area at Dollpa, too. What I don't get is that Volks hardly ever actually post online anywhere what the current D'coords are that I can find, only the dates they will change, but luckily I have a friend who can keep an eye on it since she lives not too far from Akiba. I hope the colour is popular enough to become standard if only because then she could actually have different hands besides the ones she comes with (also replacement parts).

 

(The other silver lining is I have all that money saved for whatever Volks may spring on me next year)

Oh man! That is horrible! I can't believe that! it's really heart breaking! Especially to see the last one sold..

I really hope they make these girls standard too, and I'd like to see some other heads namely the 07 in tan.

Dang, getting the last girl plucked out of your reach in front of your eyes really hurts. ;___;" At least you have the money saved and ready for her or another doll though! Hopefully Volks will pay attention to how quickly their tan DDs sold compared to the others.

Ouch, the price hike is pretty ridiculous, I'll just hope they bring them back now and then for D'Coord. They might do them for summer even.

One of the D'Coords for Kyoto Dolpa is a lovely tan ddh09. I want her so bad but unfortunately I can't go to Kyoto Dolpa like I thought I would - hopefully they'll have a 06 at the May one? ;-; although the Dolpa D'Coords are lottery so merely going doesn't guarantee getting one.

I'm happy to see more of them being made but at the same time DAMN I want that one, her eyes are even perfect for what I wanted.

I'm curious if they will make any more sculpts as so far all the ones that have popped up are 9s or 6s.

That 09 is super cute too! I love her face-up and eyes, those eyes look nice and vibrant...something different for Volks.

 

I would say no to new tan sculpts because....Volks, BUT they've been doing a lot of things I never thought they would.

So hopefully they are testing the waters and we will see more tan sculpts. In particular I need a tan 07!

Well, I'm both shocked and happy to let you guys know that one of my friends regular visits to Akiba Dollpoint coincided with the exact minute they put a lovely tan DD9 out, and so she snapped her up for me.

Given that Volks's strategy with releasing them seemed to be 'whenever we feel like it' (and not the dates the D'Coords change like I thought), rendering getting one much like hunting a shiny Pokemon since you never know if one will be there or not, I'm pretty amazed. (And right before my payday, too!)

She sent her off for me and has an estimated delivery date of this wednesday, so I'll make a thread for her in the New Arrivals section once she arrives.

 

Really though, I hope they release them in a more reliable manner soon - especially one that allows people without access to Akihabara or Yokohama Dollpoints to get one. (Not to mention outside Japan!!) They've been really popular, so Volks are surely taking note of this??

 

I'm wondering if they'll have some for the Dolpa in the US this year? I imagine they'd have some exclusives and oneoff dolls like they do with other Dolpas, and they usually have D'Coords too. It would be a great opportunity to guauge (or rather prove) the demand for them outside Japan.

Oooh wow! I'm so happy for you, Torino! Your friend is so awesome for helping you get her. This makes up for missing the tan 06 last time, I hope! Plus she's an 09! DDH-09s are awesome. It sucks how Volks's restocking schedule for these girls is so unpredictable.. shiny hunting indeed. xD I really hope Volks is taking notes on how quickly they sell out each time they bring them out. I want tan bodies and option parts(especially hands!) to be widely released already! How I'd love a MDD-sized tan DDH-10.

 

I'm even more convinced that Volks's light tan is reaaally close what I'm going for with Elia's dye project too, so if Volks makes blank tan DDH-09 heads available eventually I wouldn't have to worry about dyeing any additional heads(for different facial expressions) to match. Tbh if the tan 09 they announced had been on a DDS L-bust body instead I would have had some major doll plan reconsidering to do... welp. not that I ever noticed any d'coord 09s on y!j anyway..

Haha you're in luck, Bri is a character who tends to show a lot of skin and so I was planning on putting her into the camisole set I bought last year especially for her, as I'm worried about the stain potential of this outfit (as well as whether stain treatment is any different with this kind of skintone, i.e. If the treatment cream would discolour her etc)

I'm about to go to work so I can't change her yet but I'll post photos of her when I do.

In the meantime you do see her naked at the start of the unboxing video in this thread.

I think the 6 is a cutie but the 9 is a total babe, good luck to anyone else with their sights on her.

Bri looks disconcerting in Rin's wig and Len's eyes. Like she is pretending to be Rin! LOL! But she has a wonderful face and I like the body. The tan is pretty subtle, but obviously darker than the normal. I am assuming she is the large bust?

That's right. The two tan girls are either a DDdy 6 or a 9 with L-bust. They haven't seemed to switch the heads and bodies as far as I know. (ie the 6 is always with the DDdy) This means the currently existing tan parts are the 6 and 9 heads, DDdy body and L bust regular body. My one came with 'natural' hands (i.e. default hands) and I'm not sure if the 6 comes with a different pair or not.

I don't think Rin minds her wig being used by someone else because she looks so damn good in the purple one Bri came with! But I'm hoping to get some more suitable eyes/wig at the next doll event, or when I go to Tokyo again in May, but it's kind of hard not to think of her as some tanned adult Rin right now lol.
