Sunrise x smart doll

I'm wondering if part of the Sunrise deal involved hiring a new sculptor for Spike specifically, but the GirlPan one didn't. That seems very likely.

Pretty sure the furthest left is Spike. Furthest right DOES look awfully Mirai-like, blugh.

 

But the middle. WHO DAT. THAT head I might actually like.

Maybe the front one is Miho? The middle and the last one look very interesting *_*

Front one looks like Mirai to me, don't think it's a Cowboy Bebop character because of the large eyes.

Maybe the other two are Spike and Vicious? The middle one seems too masculine to be Faye.

I agree that the middle one totally looks like a dude--part of why I'm so interested, actually.

 

FWIW, the finished Girls und Panzer Miho looks a LOT like Mirai, so the front one probably IS Miho: http://www.dannychoo.com/en/post/27361/Nishizumi+Miho+Smart+Doll.html

Danny has made quite a few Code Geass references lately and Lelouche was one of the characters he originally referred to possibly making way back before Eiji came out so it could be him.

Thanks K-2. That is easier. I agree with Poofiemus that the furthest end one looks like Spike and Torino might be right about the middle one being Lelouche at least based on how I've seen their face shapes. Its nice that Danny is actually making a different sculpt for the boys. I am getting excited to see how Spike turns out.

I'm excited to see Spike, but if that is Lelouch Lamperouge... I would order him in a heartbeat! The first anime figure I ever bought was this one way back when. One of my ultimate anime crushes.

If that's Lelouch it is a nice looking mold. I guess I really prefer the smart doll boys to the girls.

I know off topic, but wait, she isn't Mirai? I honestly thought it was: "hey I made the clothing/wig, and made an alternative face-up so you can have this character. That's good enough, right? Right? So gimme your money, 'kay?"

I need to see the face not blurred, actually painted.... I don't know how I feel. I got this sneaking feeling I may just never like any 3D ver. of Spike. Maybe he'll prove me wrong this time though.

Danny's Code Geass shoutouts make SmD Lulu almost a certainty now and that's exciting! I'm not sure if he's the head in the middle. The eyes look slanty but it's too blurry to tell if it's slanted enough for him. It looks promising regardless. I know CLAMP only did the original character designs but I wonder if some of their other works could get a similar treatment(though Volks getting the license to make Clamp dolls is probably more likely).

 

Totally random, but I just realized that Sunrise also made Tiger & Bunny! I would SO love to see my favorite impeccably stylish goofy anime dad as a smart doll guy...

 

 

And Barnaby too, though I think I'm not alone in preferring Kotetsu.. xD

Whoever the middle guy is I'm super excited about him, because I like Eiji from the front now, but he still looks a little weird in 3/4 and side view. This guy looks good from 3/4 already, hopefully he won't have any wonky angles.

Agreed! Like, I don't even care about the character, just gimme more pictures so I can decide whether this sculpt is worth getting on a hype train for.

The guys are definitely looking better for sure! Eiji's 1/3 angle bugs me a lot actually he's still a little

weird he works for now but I'm somewhat eager to replace him. That middle head is looking better so far...

 

I want Spike to work but I may be to critical of him we will see.

I am actually screaming. Please let him turn out beautifully because he will be launched straight to the top of my doll wishlist. Also, thanks Danny for not doing limited runs. It's so convenient for us poor college kids.

Between that, him specifically mentioning CG's 10th anniversary and him also mentioning needing to find a way to more easily/quickly switch eyes, specifically left eyes, I think it's pretty safe to say Lelouche confirmed. Doesn't seem to be a secret.

 

(For those who dont know, he would want the eye switching so that he could include a special 'Geass' eye, but if he does come up with some kind of easy method I'm really interested cos I'd love a way to make this easier myself if I ever got around to making/commissioning all kinds of custom eyes for Kaito's many looks. Someone suggested magnets, not sure if that would work but its an interesting idea. It could also make it a lot easier to position them right.)

Oh my. If he comes with any of those outfits I will likely end up with more boys in my house. First Spike then Lelouche. I really hope this turns out well.

Whether it's Lelouch or not I'm not sure, but it does NOT seem to be the "middle head" we've been gushing over--the eyes are way different, and the chin is pointier. @_@

It does look like him, so I'm inclined to believe it is him. This head could work for one of my characters as well! If I make him I'll have to snag a Kotori head too to make his friend.

Okay, so I kind of hate to be that guy, but I wonder if Danny's going to use the standard SmD boy body for Lelouch or if he's going to make some new parts. Like, the long legs are perfect, but Lelouch himself is a physically weak stick of a human being.

 

I don't think he'd look bad on the original boy body, especially if you account for the clothing quality and faceup and everything, but it's be a little odd to have him look studly under his clothes when he sucks at physical activity (remember this scene?).

Not entirley true I guess. He wrote about his first project Miho:

"Miho is not a limited edition and won't be for at least a year."

 

If he is doing a lot more projects in the future, he probably won't be able to offer them all for an "unlimited" time. So it feels more like the Pre-Order Projects from Volks for me like this.
