They are probably focusing on Lelouch, buuuuttt I hope he's fixing Spike because....ugh

i mean he's getting there, but he needs some final touches. I'd rather they scrapped the idea than release him looking like that.

He could sell the head as some generic character if he wanted, but not as Spike.

Something seems off, although not in a bad way. I mean he doesn't really look like official art of Lelouche, but its hard for me to find that a negative because I find the official art of Lelouche so weirdly bug-eyed and unappealing. But maybe he just kinda looks too much like Eiji...?

I think his head looks kinda big, but also not necessarily in a bad way - it stood out to me because it made me wonder how big his head is in comparison to Eiji's. Getting another smartdoll for me depends on the size of their head so that they'll fit in with the rest, and I like his smiling face.

Unfortunately I don't really care enough about Code Geass to justify buying a fullset.

I completely agree with you on the "weirdly bug-eyed and unappealing" look of the anime and how this doll doesn't exactly reflect it.

However, having said that, I actually really like this version that Danny has released because it's more aesthetically appealing to me than the animation. I think if Danny had stayed 100% true to the anime/manga facial features the doll would look hideous.

Definitely an improvement on transferring looks of 2D to 3D on Danny's part. It's so extremely difficult to do that. I'm hopeful he'll fix the issues with Spike in the future now that he's got more experience with this.

Ahhh that smiling face Lulu! It's weird, looking at Lelouch I can see him as a 'Lelouch Doll' and not a 'Doll in Lelouch cosplay'.. doubly so because his face is still kinda generic looking and not like CLAMP's art. I wonder why I think that. @__@" I used to be invested in Geass as it was airing as one of the most hyped shows then, but not so much now. I still think he's more interesting than Kirito so there's that. Did Danny specifically say he'd release images on April 3rd or just April? I'm almost certain this is to steal some of Volks's thunder. xD

He looks so good! I agree that he is not an 'exact' match, but I do not care. I am buying him. I like both faces, the eyes look awesome, and his uniform looks great. I am claiming a full set.

He looks pretty good! I suspect he still has issues with face dimensions, but that may be a given for Smart Doll at this point. I like how sleek his outfit is. It's been a long time since I was interested in Code Geass, though, I wonder why it's coming back after all this time.

I've never watched Geass so the character doesn't have any pull for me, but the tailoring of his outfit looks amazing.

He looks great. While I agree that he's not an exact match for what the character looks like in his art I still think that he did a splendid job. Honestly, I like him better this way he looks like an "older?" Lelouch. His costume and even head sculpt appear much better made than what Volks came out with for Kirito. Even my husband likes the way Lelouch looks and he's not one to like these dolls.

I have no interest in Code Geass but he looks really cool.

He's not a perfect match, but be still my heart! I've been holding out on doll funds to pick him up once he's released and this just cements those plans. (I'm sort of madly in love with the series, so I'm going to gush a little bit. Apologies in advance.)

 

I think part of the issue is the wig, honestly. It's the right color, but doesn't really fall the way I would expect doll-Lelouch's hair to fall. I think it comes too far away from his head on the sides? That's easy enough to modify and remedy, though! His heads are both absolutely beautiful, in my opinion. They have a lot of personality to them and keep kind of the Clamp-y feel without the Clamp-y anatomy issues.

 

Outside of that, the uniform looks super good so far. I'm really impressed. I wonder what his Zero costume is going to look like if/when it's released.

I do not like the smiling face one(gives off too much of an Eiji look), I think the more grumpy face suits the face better.

Honestly, I can give this an A+. Not an exact match on the artwork but it's pretty dang good. Better than what Volks is doing with Kirito lol.

So I definitely want him. The problem is I can't tell who to turn him into. He could work for either Jace or Markus... @_@ If anyone has the photoshop skills could someone edit a pic of him to have dark skin? Like a cocoa powder kind of color? It might help me figure it out.

Not cocoa powder so much as an approximation of tea skin--not sure yet how to get the skin that much darker without weird things happening.

 

I left the other side alone, so you can see it compared to milk skin.

I think the doll is a great as a stand alone piece , outside of the anime, but since it's intended to be Lelouch, I think it's fallen quite far away from the model he was meant to be. It's captured very little charm the original character had. So while there is a good looking doll, it's a bit disappoint for a fan of the series.

 

I can't place what's off about it though, the wig, or the lower portion of the face. Probably a pair of those things, it just doesn't click well for me. Originally I was highly anticipating Lelouch to be released since the prototype looked VERY promising. Ahh well. The clothes look great though!

Looking at it more closely... I think he'd fit Jace better. Markus's eyes are more squinted? I guess is the right word for it.

 

F*ck me I'm making one of the most despicable characters I've ever written. I'm in shock. Honestly in shock. He'll be toned down in dollverse obviously but still. I knew this was coming I just didn't think it would be any time soon.

Your not the only one. I love Code Geass and was really, really looking forward to him and CC, but now I'm "mehhh, not happy". Hyped him for nothing. Can't really say what I don't like about him in particular, but he doesn't feel like Lelouch for me. Sad but my money is save lol

I'm a huge fan (my first anime figures and my first anime doll - Project BM Medicom - were Lelouch) and I'm not super disappointed. He does kind of look very similar to the new Eiji face, and the lower half of his face could be better, but he is still pretty cute and I will most likely 98% buy him when he is available. I think I'm not let down because I forced myself to have low expectations in the first place.

I think Lelouch looks great!

My only concern is I hope he reconsiders the wig, it has a 'party wig' kinda vibe and not as high quality soft appearance as the other Smart Doll wigs.

That's just my opinion though, I won't be getting him as I'm not sure I'll ever get a male doll, so as long as people who want him are happy that's awesome ^.^

Yeah, you're right. It's my old facial recognition issue coming into play.

I know a lot of people were worried Lelouche would look too beefy with the standard smart doll boy body, so I was pleased to see that Danny changed the arms to be slimmer.
