New cuties - possible new release? (Mirai/Kizuna mold)

Looks like Danny is experimenting with new faceups for the Mirai/Kizuna mold :

I know that Danny has sold OOAK practice heads through Twitter in August. It's interesting to see what a different faceup can do.

Still, I'd prefer new sculpts.

Yeah, same. I dont really see the point in these I have to admit. There are already five dolls using this sculpt.

It's fine to be proud of your work but even more is just overkill to me. And if I'm going to be blatantly honest I don't see anything too different about the faceups of these girls anyway.

But if people like them at least they shouldnt be difficult to produce.

Its my opinion that a new faceup on the same mold might generate more sales as its kind of a different* product without making a new mold/headsculpt.

 

I think its a good thing in one way as seeing mirai all the time with the same makeup gets a bit blah, but this mixes it up a bit without people having to buy mirai and then get a new faceup or danny having to make a new sculpt which only sells xx amount of units and not making back the $$ he put into it etc.... make sense? XD

Looks like the blond-haired Mirai is called Julia and will be released in Dec/Jan.

I have to admit that I do think she is pretty cute.

I thought he was talking about the release of the china dress, not Julia. But it is interesting that he suddenly started giving her a name.

I actually like Julia and the Chinese dress is rather cute too. I'm still waiting on that tea Mirai he teased in September. I'm thinking possibly a March release to coincide with Mirai's birthday.

I really like Julia in her lil Chinese dress. The faceup is quite lovely too, but the difference is subtle compared to the original Mirai faceup.

I'm still going to hold out for Danny to complete his other 2 girl characters (Karuka & Kanata) before I make anymore SmartDoll purchases.

I think she is really cute too, but I agree with the above points. I wish he would do something like some BJD brands do, where you can choose the skin tone, faceup type and everything and get the doll that way, rather than changing the face slightly and giving it a new name.
