Hullo everyone!

I'm (primarily) a BJD collector based in sunny CA, USA. I've been admiring DDs from afar for quite a while now. Yesterday I impulse bought an in stock head and body from volksUSA. Today I have my first DD haha (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄). (still kicking myself over not entering in the lottery for Kagamine Len T-T gah)

I know close to nothing about DDs so I'm off to the forums to do my research before I ruin my poor cutie (≧◡≦)

I was in the resin hobby for a long time, but man oh man, once I got my first DD body I was an instant convert. Having articulated joints that hold position is such a big deal, it feels like there's less of a risk of breakage with the soft body parts, and even if there is trouble, it's really easy to order replacement pieces from Volks (or secondhand, even!).

What kind of DD head did you buy? Do you have any special plans, or just waiting to see where your imagination takes you?

 

(Someday you'll get your Kagamine - then your current DD will have someone to play with!)

 

And yes, LOTS of research. I learn new things here every day!

I definitely get the impulse buying a DD! That's what got me into them, as well. What kind do you have?

@ryotakishu thank you! Yes I noticed how great posers DDs are right away! It's such a bid difference between them and my BJDs. (But we'll since my dolls are usually sitting on a shelf or desk being able to pose or not is not that big a deal for me haha) XD I'm really liking having the option to buy extra parts too

 

@SylvanJade Thanks! I bought a DDH06 head and the standard DDS III body. It was definitely impulse so no plans at all oops XD.

What kind did get? Do you have pics of her yet?

Impulse buys are pretty easy with the cutes that are so abundant in the DD world. I started with just one, planning for maybe two or three. Almost three years later, I have fifteen. I want more, though space is a restriction (and of course the cost is always an issue too).

 

You're going to have to share a photo of your girl. What sort of outfit(s) do you plan for her, and if you bought a blank head, are you going to do the faceup yourself, or do you have someone planned to do it for you?

I'm going to do her faceup myself, I'll definitely share a pic or two once she's complete I dont know what I want to buy for her in the future but for now she has a ver cute light blue corset dress.
