SylvanJade Posted October 24, 2016 Hey all, Jayde and I went outside and had some fun in the sun today. I got a new wig for Jayde last week, so this is the first photo shoot where I really got to play with it. I had to trim it out of her eyes because she looked a little shaggy. Thank goodness I didn't ruin her wig. It was so nerve wracking! Luckily you can see her eyes now. My main concern now is I feel like the wig is making the top of her head too large. I wasn't able to see the pictures at the time because smartphone screens and sun don't mix well, so I was very surprised. I'm not sure if it was the angle of the phone (trying to take pictures without my shadow in the way) or if it truly is the wig. From the side and at an angle, her hair looks great! Angle shot: Another angle: From the side, it looks so lovely... But from the front, her hair makes her head look big to me! This one is not so bad... Should I try changing the pigtails to go forward a bit more? What do you think? Or maybe I'm just so used to her other wig, that I'm just seeing things. I think I'm going to try moving the pigtails forward a bit and see if that helps. I'll have to take some more pictures when I can...maybe inside this time, lol. toughstermcg Posted October 24, 2016 I know just what you mean, I have the same problem with a purple twintail wig that just looks much too big in proportion to the head I don't have a solution, but one thing to try -- are you sure the wig's pulled on all the way down? DD heads are pretty big and snug in wigs, so you probably have it on right, but I know with resin heads I've had a habit of just letting them sit on loosey-goosey and that can contribute to the problem. All that aside, she's a real cutie! I really love her clear, bright eyes.
etoile Posted October 29, 2016 It's such a cute wig on here! She always looks so good in blonde! As for trimming, it looks like you did a nice, even job
foo Posted October 29, 2016 It does look big f^_^') Are the tails separate/clip on? I've found it's best to mount them higher and further back. I actually got this from the Rin figma/nendos... By having them higher and not on the sides of the head, they kind of sit like a crown (definitely add ribbons!) rather than making the head bigger. Same with Sakuya's default wig (Crimson Mode), Sakuya: Weapon of Choice by bodolza, on Flickr Not all twin tails are equal though, it really depends on the style. galatia9 Posted October 29, 2016 I see what you mean, SylvanJade. Some wigs are just rounder and fuller across the top, and the top sits ABOVE the doll's head instead of ON it. I have a couple of wigs like that too. I agree with foo, try putting the tails higher and further back on her head. They may help weigh down the top of the wig. You could also try putting on some kind of wig cap, to grip the wig and hold it further down on her head. She is so pretty as a pale blonde! Stellalina Posted November 2, 2016 yeah I see what you mean it does look a little big but it's still cute! Maybe you can try what the others suggested or maybe there's a smaller size that can fit her? Sorry i'm new to all this but hopefully you can find a way to fix it. The blonde and twintails looks very cute on her!
