The Bikini team (skimpyness... Picbomb)

This time around I decided to dust off the old sewing machine and made a few bikini's by copying the design used by Nynj55, and coolcats.

 

True to form, this style of doll bikini with the thick strings is out of fashion with the cool kids, but I was rather chuffed with the results considering I hadn't ever tried to make this sort of thing before.

 

Results got better as I managed to put the things together, and even massaged the base design a bit... up to a slight extreme which is the last set on Audrey.

 

Maya and Lulu didnt get much photos since they were taken during the week while I was having slightly elevated stress at the daytime work, and when it was ginko's turn I felt more enthusiastic again... Audrey got most of the photo's due to that I had planned to copy poses from the Me-me-me and Girl music video's since the ultra-skimpy bikini reminded me of mememe.

The bikinis turned out so nicely! The girls look like they are really enjoying modeling them -- even Speck! And their styling and poses are so cute.

Although to be honest, even though these turned out ok, there was quite a few items that failed one way or another:

and thats maybe only half, or maybe even only a third of the attempts... the red and especially skimpy golden one's were tricky But Im still especially happy over how the gold and red one's turned in the end, despite the most attempts put into making them.

 

But now to think of something else to do I suppose...

What materials did you use?

For the outlines/straps thin non-stretch either polyurethane or PVC coated fabric (not 100% sure which they were).

For the insides pink matte stretch PU coated fabric, thick'ish black PVC coated fabric, and stretch metallic lame fabric in red and gold.

Wow, your girls definitely know how to wear these And great job making them, they turned out great. I might try to sew something sometime. Can I ask if you created some paper pattern first or something, or you just experimented with the cloth?

As I mentioned for the most part these were made by copying a nynj55 (YJA seller) bikini, after the pink and black one I started to fiddle with the dimensions more to my liking, although the first two already had the rear part of the bottoms widened a bit for my own liking.

 

The last one on Audrey (rise) could be said to be the most original, and is especially made for a DD S-bust, but it still uses the same basic construction order and method.

 

But all in all, there was plenty of failed attempts to see what would have worked, and what not.
