finnleo Posted November 11, 2016 This time a bit of a smaller set than usual, since the planned follow-ups did not come to pass during the week. Also quite a bit different in terms of self made stuff than last time... But this time I dug up an old Yukata sewing project that I had left abandoned for reasons I cannot remember... probably stupid tweak ideas to the putting the thing together.. the little pouch I made didnt get much attention, since it didnt turn out well at all. Anyways, modeling this time was Michi whom with I am experimenting with other eye's since her defaults came loose after a fall. The wig is a quick braid job to a apparently cool cats steel grey wig. The cream yukata was probably not best photographed with my setup, but me camera started behaving badly with a full black surround, so I went back to this. but hope you like... michi077 michi076 michi075 michi074 michi073 michi072 michi071 michi070 michi069 michi068 Thanks for looking... sinclair Posted November 11, 2016 She's so cute. I love the outfit. I really need to get some for my girl. I need to get around to making a photo booth.
finnleo Posted November 13, 2016 Thanks. It was too nice of an item to keep buried inside a box, especially since it was made out of the small print cotton I managed to find one day, that goes well with the doll size. Yukata's are a relatively nice beginners sewing project... unless you decide to line the thing and do silly things to attach the collar like some people ^^;
sinclair Posted November 14, 2016 I'd need a pattern, but I'm game. My mother in law is quite the seamstress (She made my wife's wedding dress, as well as many others over the years.) and has been supportive of my new hobby. She's willing to help me learn how to sew. finnleo Posted November 15, 2016 @galatia Thanks.. the shinguji sakura head can be quite versatile, cuteness is not its only forté. I'd need a pattern, but I'm game. Yukata (And subsequently kimono) sewing patterns can be found on the web quite easily, although its more of a matter of adapting them to a certain size. I once did an overly complicated explanation as to how this went together with some measurements, but as the title suggests its more of a bathrobe in terms of construction than a yukata. also to simplify things it combined two sections into one. galatia9 Posted November 19, 2016 @galatiaThanks.. the shinguji sakura head can be quite versatile, cuteness is not its only forté. I agree totally! She looks very versatile. I can easily picture how she could be sassy or determined as well.
