Strange discolouration on Cocoa body

Recommended Posts

CaffeinatedCake

You might offer to trade the blotchy parts for new ones-- ideally, they pay shipping both ways, but they should WANT the botched parts so they can research WHY they're messed up.

I personally would snatch up the new body at $200, but I also have a friend who does a ton of mods and whatnot so I would just throw the messed up one at him like "HEY do something about these blotches? I don't care what."

Good luck with whichever you decide I hope you're an isolated case and that you don't experience this with anymore Cocoa bodies (or SmD bodies in general)!

Well... if the waranty only covers broken limbs it might be time to get a hammer out.

You're onto something here, I sense...

Besides joking though, and I haven't seen anyone mention this...if you feel bad asking replacements for free (or in the case they refuse), you can always ask to replace -just- the parts that these stains appeared at? Do a close inspection of all the parts and then tell them "That's a lot to pay, can I instead replace just the parts that are faulty?", and hopefully this'll come cheaper...

Hi everyone! Sorry for the MIA...

All your suggestions and replies are so encouraging! I have tried the old remedy acne medication on some of the spots, but I can't really tell if it's making any difference.

I'm not sure I have the nerve to open her up or remove the outer layer of vinyl on the legs. But I will try to get a peak inside somehow. That seems to be the only way to convince Smart Doll, at least. I was in contact with someone called Yuhio, I think. I've seen that Danny is travelling a lot recently.

The staining is on both legs and hip area, so there isn't really any other way than to replace the whole body except the arms.

Just a quick update to say that applying benzoid peroxide/acne medication onto the stains seems to be doing the trick. Albeit very slowly. So, I might not need to buy that extra body after all. Only real downside is that I probably won't be able to sell her in the future, if I ever need to. It's going to be nigh impossible to remove everything and restore her to original state.

Eh, you probably can! Discount a bit to account for the staining and SOMEONE will snatch her up. I can't be the only one that's okay with mild staining.

Well, as it turned out, the peroxide treatment seems to be working. The stains around the ankles are almost completely gone. It's just the knee stains that are still there, but fainter. I haven't really treated the small blotches on the crotch area yet, but presumably they should also disappear eventually.

Phew!

And also, I'm definitely going to be more careful with stain checking my clothes for her before use!
