Aichan Posted December 1, 2016 I am looking for a 4th DD girl to add to my small DD family. I think I am going to stop at her since I like even numbers. But anyway I was reading about the different DD bodies and saw that the first DD was a strung one. I kind of like the idea of owning one of those but here are my two questions: Are they hard to find ? ( I know there was one on DOA recently) Are their bodies a way different size wise so that I have to make my own clothes for her? (I don't mind the latter I just wanted to know if it is hard to find clothes for them since they are older) and lastly, you know how resin can yellow in patches depending on how the owners dressed them and the UV exposure, are DD's subject to this, as in should I not try to buy a DD this old? Thank you in advance. http://www.grave-designs.com
Error-Chan Posted December 2, 2016 finding them its not to hard if you look for the older releases. their size is basically a different look to the DD2 so same clothing will fit them. this si V1 Izzy on a DDI body. her clothing are all SD size and ehr skirt is a Coolcat made for DD. Izzy all dolled up. by Samby, on Flickr Izzy all dolled up. by Samby, on Flickr to my knowledge, they age like normally DDs since they are not resin just a hard vinyl. https://www.flickr.com/photos/error-chan/12631956834/in/dateposted-public/ all I will say is I had this body for a few months and hated it. it did not like to stand and the arms only bending in 90% along with the strange wrist joints made the body (for me) a hell of a time. baldylox Posted December 4, 2016 Hey there! Hopefully I can help with some answers for you. Are they hard to find ? ( I know there was one on DOA recently) DD1 bodies aren't too difficult to find if you watch YJA and Mandarake a lot, they pop up there often. Pricing generally runs between $100 and $150 on average for them. I also see them pop up on the DD Facebook sales group and here in the marketplace so if you're after one, it won't take long to find one. Are their bodies a way different size wise so that I have to make my own clothes for her? The DD1 body is almost the exact same size as the DD2 Medium bust sizing so anything that fits those will fit the DD1 as well. The DD3 bodies are a bit slimmer in the wait area compared to the DD1 but still not a huge difference. You know how resin can yellow in patches depending on how the owners dressed them and the UV exposure, are DD's subject to this, as in should I not try to buy a DD this old? The DD1 body I had came with the original Rei Ayanmai release and it never showed any signs of fading, changing colors or yellowing. I've only seen one or two DD1 bodies do that so I think for the most part it'll be up to whether or not the body was in a lot of direct sunlight or exposed to smoking and such. You should be fine tho. As for what Error said about the body, it all depends on what you're used to as to whether you'll hate the body or not. If you're used to dealing with resins then the DD1 body acts almost the same for posing since it's internally strung and not using the inner skeleton like the newer bodies. I wasn't a huge fan of the one I had either but it wasn't horrible..... it was just difficult to pose because I was so used to the DDdy body I had for my other girl. The elbows, wrists and ankles aren't strung so those are fine, it was just the head, shoulders, hips and knees that are strung and affect how it poses. To really see how it compares to the other newer bodies, check the photos and descriptions in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2333 Hopefully this helps you out! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Billy Thank you Billy for your very informative answer. It had been a little bit since I signed back in to check responses. I don't use facebook but I Mandrake is one I do. I have never used YJ though. Those are really good prices too. I don't mind the positioning of the resin strung people so I don't think it will be a problem for a strunf DD body. Thank you so much because you have helped me make my decision. http://www.grave-designs.com
Saba Posted December 19, 2016 Please also be aware that the newer optional hands are not made to fit on the DD1 pegs. I used to have a DD1 body and managed to -jam- fist hands on her, but it wasn't a good fit^^;; However I really liked the less slim waist of the DD1
