which head is the "Biggest"?

I was just thinking about my wig making and the fact the old foam ball I use is pretty head now. I thought I can get a head to use as a wig making one but I wondered which is the largest overall?

it would have to be the biggest overall so the cap is stretched enough to fit most of the other heads also. Any info would be awesome!

I think personally, out of all the DD's I owned/handled it was Yoko? I'm pretty sure about that.

 

By all means someone with a more vast collection, and can currently handle them include your conclusion. I haven't handled anything too new either (i.e. like takane) so my information could be old.

 

Fun fact, I think Saber Lily was probably the smallest.

haha dang yeah her head is quite big. I probably would be looking at the "cheaper" heads as I probably will jab it with needed at times.

I have a Yoko, her head does seem to be the largest out of what I have

My 08 seems to have a larger head cirbleepference (I haven't measured, but wigs fit her tighter) than my 01, if that helps

I don't know if it's the biggest overall, but 07 is easily the biggest head I had so far.

I took this pic before I did a mod project to shrink my 07 a bit to not look so huge compared to the smaller heads, actually. xD It originally had a cirbleepference of 23cm/9in iirc.

 

edit: I just measured my 08 and 09 and they were both around 22cm

This is a useful thread, especially with Rin and Len having fairly large heads.

Does anyone have both Rin and Yoko? How do they compare?

I really don't have the cash to get Yoko just to use as a wig making head XD

Whoa that all makes sense with my 07's wig being tight. I have to make sure her bangs block the view of the wig cap edges....

 

I want to switch out my 07 for an 09 to fit the character more, so it's nice to know that her wig will fit better since the 09 is smaller! This is a great thread < 3

I think I remember reading somewhere that DDH-04 was also a larger head like DDH-07, but also that Volks changed the sizes of heads a bit in recent years? I'm not sure if newer heads are bigger or smaller than the older ones though since I'm pretty new to DDs myself. xD It would be cool if there was a lineup of all of the standard heads out there.

The newer heads are, generally speaking, larger than the older ones, in my experience. Though I don't have an 04 or 08. I use 9-10" wigs with 2-3 headcaps for most of my girls because getting 8-9" on is too much trouble.

I'm surprised how different these heads are! The 01 is quite large from the side. The 06 and 07 are both tall, but the 06 is rounder all around. The 07 has a narrower chin. The 07 seems wider at the top than the 06.

So was I! The distance from chin to forehead is short, but it sure is big around! It's a spherical head, while the others are more oval.
