SolicitorPirate Posted December 23, 2016 Apologies if this is a dumb question; I just got my first DD and as much as I love her, I'm a bit confused by her wrists. She can move her hands up and down, but I can't seem to pivot her hands without feeling like I'm going to break something. So are DDs designed to allow wrist swivels? Is mine just unusually tight? Or is she doomed to forever have difficulty moving her hands around?
Mario Posted December 24, 2016 Unfortunately the wrists do not do a 360 pivot, you have to turn it(yes it does feel horrible like you're about to break it) Don't be too hard on it though. If you have too much trouble you can just pop it out and put it in the desired location. There is third party sellers which sell pivoted 360 wrist joints.(I actually need to find some myself)
SolicitorPirate Posted December 25, 2016 Cool, thanks for letting me know! Just to clarify something though, when you said pop it out, do you mean just the hand, or the entire wrist joint?
galatia9 Posted December 25, 2016 You can pull out the entire wrist joint. Some are more snug than others. Sometimes it makes a "pop" sound! I've gently sanded down wrist joints that are too snug, using one of those fingernail files made for shaping. (Sort of like a fancy emery board, with multiple textures on it.) It makes it easier to turn the joint, and to remove it, too. foo Posted December 27, 2016 You can do this with the new wrist joints part that you buy separately, viewtopic.php?f=21&t=15293&p=208123#p208123
