So uh, did anyone here buy Miho?

So Miho has been a bit of an enigma to me. Around here and other doll enthusiast communities I'm aware of, she was met largely with apathy, if not outright negativity. Similarly, I don't think I've seen a single photo of her posted here.

 

However, the impression I've been getting from Danny's social media, is that she's selling well. Obviously Danny has a vested interest in portraying his first licensed character doll as a success, but he's retweeted enough different people with Miho dolls to suggest that at least some of them have been sold.

 

So uh, I guess I just have multiple questions about the Miho doll. Does anyone here have one? If so, what are your impressions?

I never saw pics of her in her bikini, but was curious too.

yes I got a Miho , she was my 6th Smart Doll , she is nice , her school uniform is nice and well made , she has a white bikini which also doubles as her underwear , the strings on the bikini briefs come off so they can be used as panties

I just chalked it up to girls und panzer being a billion times more popular in Japan than in the west. With dollfie dreams you get a lot of people buying girls even if they don't know or like the character, just cos the sculpt is nice, but given that most people here were underwhelmed with her sculpt I assume she's mostly appealing to fans of the show and character.

I didn't buy her, but I did see her in person at the culture Japan store back in November. I thought she's was pretty cute! She still looked too much like Mirai in my opinion, but her eyes seemed to be a bit droopier in person I think..

Oh? Is there a big difference in the size of the Japanese and Western fandom? I've largely been out of anime for the past few years, and always assumed GuP was pretty popular everywhere

I think she's really cute, and if she had been available I might have gotten her instead of my Ebony, but she just looks like a differently-styled Mirai to me. I'm also very confused by "Julia", who looks almost identical to Kizuna to me.

Another thing to remember is that most people that are happy with a thing will never be as vocal about it as someone that doesn't like it. We get this in the model train world. The forums will be all lit up about how horrible and wrong some locomotive was, but it'll be sold out everywhere. The unhappy minority will always be louder than the happy majority.

 

As for Miho, she is cute, but when I see her I think she looks like a Smart Doll and would of never figured she was from any anime (One I happen to like too.) if I hadn't been told.
