She was a bit shocked there were other figures of her already around, but she took the development well.

 

 

The next image is not too great, but it should convey the idea. A friend of mine I hadn't seen in a while came down for game night, and Amber thought it would be a good idea if everyone greeted him when he arrived. Tecra jumped at the opportunity to show off Venom. Candy and Ranka had no idea who they'd be meeting but went along with it. And Cynthia... Well, Cynthia complained to my friend for staying away for so long.

 

 

My friend shook his head, and took his own picture. His is probably better.

I think that's the first I've really noticed with this wig instead of the weird braided one that I don't care for.

It's good to know the red dress doesn't stain, as I did get it. I would have gotten the white one too, but my L busted girl already has a nice dress, so I couldn't justify the expense. But is she wearing tights? It doesn't look like it but her legs still look white.

Thank you for the compliment. I definitely agree that official Volks promo images leave something to be desired. As for my pics looking nicer, I wouldn't go that far myself. But if you like my shots, I'm certainly not going to argue.

Yes, Candy is wearing some white tights. Normally doing so smooths out the ankles, but in this case it didn't. It's probably because I dressed her too fast and didn't adjust things quite right. Another thing is the amount of posing I was doing (Candy was the one who fell over the most this time). Getting them to stand pretty much always involves messing with their ankles, so that probably didn't help either.

One of the things that is fun about DDs is the amount of time you can spend figuring out the perfect pose, and they're so forgiving of being constantly moved about. People wouldn't put up with that for long.

 

You may have already figured this out already, but two things that can really help with lighting.

 

If you are using flash then use an off camera flash, and put it behind a diffusion umbrella. Alternatively you can use a bounce card of some sort. Doesn't have to be an expensive off camera flash, but a flash that uses the TTL function in a DSLR is a big plus. The camera branded ones aren't cheap though.

 

If you having issues with shadows on the background move them farther away from the backdrop. I tend to photo mine about 8 feet out from the wall.

 

It can also help to tether your camera to a computer and take the photo from inside lightroom. You see the resulting image full size, and you see the raw image and not a corrected .jpg preview that gets displayed on the back of your camera. So much easier to judge exposure that way, and easier to look at focus and composition too.
