Snow Miku 2017 - Twinkle Snow (First post updated with info)

I find it weird that the set comes with eyes. At first I couldnt figure out the difference between these eyes and the regular snow miku eyes but it seems like the design is subtly different - the pupils are a bit smaller too which makes her look more mature.

I'm not really sure why - that isnt really a detail present in the original art or anything but it's kinda cool I guess (also means I dont have to hunt down Snow Miku eyes - although I probably would have just used Len's in place of them).

Shame it doesnt come with the wig too but oh well it's expensive enough lol.

So many cute details!

I like that the bunny plush has some articulation, and those polka dot bloomers are adorable. Annoying that they expect you to pierce the ears, though! I wish Volks had a better solution for earrings. And I'm not sure why they had to put clear straps on the dress, seems like it could stay up by clipping inside the over-skirt somehow, that'd be visually cleaner.

Anyway, when I saw the official pictures for some reason I don't feel like purchasing it anymore. Does anyone else feel this?

 

It's like the official artwork doesn't translate well with the doll version of the outfit. And its kind of a bummer that we have to pierce Miku's ears for the earrings. I'd probably find a different method of adding the earrings if I do decide to get it in the future.

The full picture made me more excited tbh. The only thing I dont like is how bright the pink part is.

But I love all the individual components like the polkadot bloomers and the ribbons/etc (ie those SHOES) - it will be fun mixing and matching with other outfits.

She looks absolutely gorgeous! Not gonna buy her but I look forward to seeing owner pics.

I'm actually shocked the outfit isn't $200+. It is super pretty and I really like it, but I know I won't have the money to purchase it. Plus, I'm also super-wary about the possible staining issues this one might have. I like to have my dolls wear outfits, not only have them on for quick photos.

I felt the opposite, actually. The doll version has a bit more of an elegant feel to it, while the original design--which was for Nendoroid, it's worth noting--was kind of an amorphous poofblob. I feel you on the earrings though. If I do decide to use them, I'll either have to always have earrings in my Miku (swapping out with outfits), or as you said, find an alternate wearing/display method.

The more photos I see, the more I want this outfit. Please be a pre-order at Volks USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited for this set! To be honest, I do not like the default outfit Snow Miku comes with, and the Fluffy Coat set is very bulky so it is not the greatest for posing. I actually only got Snow Miku because she was cheaper than Hatsune, I could find Hatsune Miku default outfits on Ebay, and there seemed to be less Snow Mikus floating around on the internet. This is the first Miku outfit I am excited to have Snow Miku for!

 

Edit: Volks USA has announced that they will be taking pre-orders for the Twinkle Snow outfit starting Feb 18th.

Hm, if Volks USA will let you pay preorder in full like they've done for preorder dolls, I may go that route--the uncertainty of having to pay down the line drives me kind of insane, so I'd actually rather wait a couple extra months but know payment's taken care of. /strangeperson

I don't think it's strange, I pay full up front. I have two dolls and two outfits all paid in full just waiting for them to get released. It's great to know that they'll just come to me without having a mad scramble to make sure they'll clear my credit card.

I can't wait for Snow Miku!! I see on the Japan website that there is a Fluffy Coat set. But I don't see this on VOLKS Usa. Will she just come with her original outfit or will the fluffy coat set be a substitute for the original outfit?

They may just re-release the Fluffy Coat, you'd have to buy it separate from Snow Miku.

 

I was seriously tempted to buy Snow Miku, even though I have regular Miku, they'd be twins. But in the end I decided to just buy the Snow Miku outfit and wig from others and call it good. I really need to save/spend money on my other major expensive hobby so I need to slow down on this one. But I'm still going to pre-order the Twinkle Snow set!!! (And maybe collect all the Miku outfits Volks has released.)

Volks USA just released their prices. Snow Miku is $650 and the twinkle outfit is $178

I already added the outfit to my wish list so come this weekend I can just add it to my cart and checkout!

I ordered her last minute on Monday morning and she's out for delivery today.

and bought her outfit separately from TOM (blew them TOMpoints lol) and I'm now anxiously awaiting that as well!

 

And what was the verdict on the other snow suit outfit? I never could tell what was going on with that and I couldn't find it for sale on the site (though honestly I didn't look that hard for it)

Same ^^;; actually after I saw the Emilia DD post on twitter from Volks I decided to save up my money for her..

In my case, there's a transforming coffee table that I really, REALLY want (goes from coffee table to dining table and back again), but it's hella expensive, so I've really got to watch dolly spending if I'm going to actually get it successfully.

I got it! I'll try to hunt down a suitable wig in the time before it comes out. (The one Poofiemus posted is sadly sold out now)

It's expensive and I know I'm looking at another expensive year - Kaito scale fig I preordered is out soon, there's more pure neemos I want, I'm hoping to acquire a tan d'coord as well as finish my MDD, not to mention the servant of evil set. But uh...those are problems for Future Torino! I like this too much to pass it up. Figures that my Miku was the DD I got for the cheapest and yet she gets the priciest clothes...

I guess I can justify it cos I'm probably not buying any of the other recent new clothes Volks have shown.
