Really glad that he made the neck longer and adjusted the chest plate. For me his neck always seemed to look short in pictures and in person. Those of you who bring these guys home need to spam this thread with owner photos

I noticed that they were gone shortly after Crimson Kai went up on the store. I hope they come back too. The tea guys never were available just as bodies + blank heads iirc and idk if that'll ever be an option with the new sculpts but I hope so.. I'd really want to avoid paying extra for a faceup I'd just wipe off anyway and a wig I won't use..

I have updates on the new Eiji, from The Man himself! Apparently, the main reason he is slightly delayed is actually a wig issue. Danny said that Eiji will be released in time for the London event in July, though.

I bet I have checked this thread a zillion times looking for updates! I am so in love with the new Eiji . For those of you who have a Smartdoll guy, curious what clothing fits these dolls. Maybe Volks SD13 sized stuff?

I have purchased SD13 stuff for my boy. It's usually a hit or miss with them. As sometimes the pants fit oddly on the waist. But SD13 shirts fit fine on the boys. If you consider SD16. It just looks really big on them, sometimes you have to fold the pants + sleeves.

I really would appreciate seeing owner pics of the new Crimson Kai, if anyone has him.

He's been off the site for almost a month. When I first talked to SD they were hoping to release the new version in time for Dokomi, but that didn't happen. When I met Danny at Dokomi he said they were having quality problems with the wig and Eiji would be even more delayed. I'm hoping he will appear in a few weeks!

I'm fine with the wait honestly. I can focus on other things without Aveline hounding me to get her husband home lol.

We'll see. I have BlytheConUK coming up in October, so it might not be convenient for me to spend on other dolls then. I'm also leaning more towards getting another girl instead, because I have this little fun idea I'd like to make real.

The new Eiji will be released next Friday. Danny just said so on Twitter.

I wonder if he changed his mind on selling the neck piece separate. I remember him saying he would so people could upgrade their old Eijis to have longer necks (a common complaint), it'd be annoying if he decided not to in the end.

Totally agree! I'm already tempted to sell my current Eiji for this new one because of the new mold and the longer neck.

Danny just posted an extremely rude response to someone who asked about upgrading their old eiji, despite him saying before they would.
