Even worse, that's not even the only time he said so, because he definitely said so to me - I didnt ask about the head though, just the new torso piece.

Reply to that with a screenshot of him saying he would. Since it's acceptable to change your mind, but not to speak to your customers like that.

I use twitter a -lot- so it'd take a really long time for me to dig that query of mine/quote of his up (unless people really want further proof, but it would take me a while...this was way back when newEiji was first announced after all), but it looks like someone already posted the receipts anyway. dunno if he just misunderstood the question (somehow?? maybe he thought they meant a free upgrade, even though they said 'buy'??) or was seriously going to pretend he never said it...

And I agree, it's not acceptable. It seriously rubs me the wrong way to be honest and is part of the reason why I'm not that interested in the dolls anymore - i mostly hang around out of interest because vinyl rocks and I'm interested in what things he has in future.

Looks like the person he said that to already replied back with him saying he would. And ugh. This kind of thing makes me want to just try and find any dolls I buy of his secondhand instead.

I feel genuinely bad for her, she's offering to give him money for a new product and showing she already owns two (according to her pinned tweet) smart dolls. He could have phrased his response in any other way but instead he decided to treat her like crap?

 

He really needs to stop and think before he replies to people. It's so unprofessional and he's going to destroy his own business.

Wow. I was saving my hiney off to purchase the Crimson doll. But now I am not sure I want my money to go to someone who comes off sounding like such a diva. I agree with Sato, it is one thing to change one's mind, but that is not the way to talk to your potential and/or repeat customers.

 

This may be an misunderstanding, but a person should then not just say what comes first to mind, especially in social media and representing a company in it.

Yikes indeed, what cuddly crestation crawled up his bee-hind? To be honest I get that he wants to be more hands on with his work but that was incredibly distasteful on his part.

 

I mean how could he misread that comment when it was so specifically worded? I have been dreaming of his Eiji KAI since the first teaser but even though his reply wasn't directed at me, it leaves a stain on his reputation. He really should get a hint on how to treat his customers. After all, a paying customer owes him nothing.

Looks like he realized his mistake, and is apologizing with a free Eiji head, wig and chest piece to the person he was rude to.

Oh wow you're right he's offered to send her all that (And hands) for free as an apology! While he never should have said that to begin with it seems like he didn't mean to upset her.

I could sort of understand his frustration... Just looking at the instagram comments he gets gives me a headache!

But keeping things professional should always come first.

His attitude has come of as quite bad for a while now, in my opinion. I really like his dolls and want to support his business, but not when the treatment of potential customers is so bad... It is off-putting.

 

Is it not in his best interest to keep people better informed of his products? With a lack of information given about his products and terms, he must understand that he will be asked a lot of questions!

I cannot see the whole twitter exchange (it may have to do with the fact I don't have a Twitter account), but I will take your collective words that Danny is correcting his mistake. Which I feel is a step in the correct direction.

 

But I wonder, as I cannot see (nor do I know Japanese), if he has confirmed or denied whether the new male torso will be available.

 

Would anyone be able to advise?

And yeah. Not good of him but he did make up for it. I'd go to other people for stuff honestly but the only real competition is volks and until they have more skin tones and masculine guys my hands are tied more or less.

It's cool, I kinda thought that was it but I'm kinda tired so I wondered if I missed something lol.

I'm glad he corrected himself and can admit to his mistake. Just shows the importance of a screencapping I guess.

(And yeah, he gets some of the stupidest comments in the world. I don't bother reading them anymore but I remember there was some guy who used to ask if Danny would send him a free doll because he couldn't afford one but REALLY wanted one. On multiple pictures. So I can understand getting annoyed, but it always seems like he snaps at the wrong people.)

I think Danny has tweeted that it will be available Nov 1st, in response to the person he was rude to. I have not seen anything official yet though.

I agree! No matter how frustrating a question is, or how bad your day has gone, you should always respond politely to customers/potential customers. I feel Danny mixes his quippy personality too much into his interactions with people and then stuff like this happens.

I mean, if something offends you (as a business and personally?), you don't -have- to answer. We have a business selling equipment for hospitals and such things, and I was once working on the Facebook page we have. I noticed we got a message of someone asking for a machine that cost nearly 9k euros if I remember well, for free because they were unemployed but that would help their life tremendously or what not. I mean... probably every business ever gets these kind of messages, even phone companies... so just leave it be...

 

But perhaps we're going a bit off topic with this discussion. I wish I had the money to buy this new Eiji

You know, I think that Danny's very British sense of humour and irony doesn't translate well on social media. Especially when dealing with people who are not English-speaking it may come off as rude and impolite.

 

Anyway, back on topic!

I am still having the hardest time deciding on new Eiji. It seems that having waited to long for him to finally arrive, I have begun seriously considering Kurenai instead. I find myself not quite being able to work up the excitement for Eiji anymore. It's always harder to find the right clothes and wigs, in my opinion. I tend not to go for fantasy.

To be honest I really hate when 'British' is used as an excuse for some of his behaviour, because I'm Australian, so if *I* think you're being rude, you better believe it. typical British or even Australian humour would only be some gentle ribbing, not outright insulting people or snapping at them. It also implies that British people are rude like that all the time.

But eh whatever, the issue is done. Until the next time lol.

I was born and raised in London, and had transitioned through several parts of England, I've never quite seen that sort of snappy humor. But to be fair, alot of my relatives outside of England have said I am either too blunt, or my humor is too dry, so I really have no clue, to me that comment he made was salty, but I guess his humor could just be dryer than the norm I was used to. I agree with Torino, though, it does sound a little bit like an excuse to call it British humor.

 

Anyway, it's all water under the bridge now, he made up for it. The guy's been struggling with worsening health issues so I usually just pass it off as him having a bad day.

 

Back to his doll, the more I look the more I'm interested (not so keen on his wig, but that's easily changeable ). Pity that I probably can't get him this year, despite being my vinyl grail. Wait for me, Eiji Kai, I swear, I WILL get you

 

But as someone who actually recently transitioned to vinyl from resin, (meaning, I am a huuuuge n00b in this department), I'll probably wait for owner pictures too. Considering he has a more pronounced profile and features, I would love to see customization on this head specifically

I really wish there were more customised SDs around. While I do like most of them as they are, it's always fun to see other versions. Like you, I've come to the vinyl world fairly recently (last year), so I'm more used to the same sculpts not looking like each other all the time. Most SD owners seem to keep their dolls completely intact with wigs and all too. That's not so say the default is bad in any way, but more just noticing this difference.
