Averis Posted January 23, 2012 Haha, thanks guys. I guess I can be a bit OCD, but it's not always clean. Hopefully I can make room for my third girl when she is here. They aren't posed just so it drives you crazy, Billy. Hehe. I'm not very good at posing. Next time I take a desk photo I'll see what I can do.

I just wanted to find something to pick on you about and that was all I could find. I'm sure those two are all sorts of adorable when you aren't around. kymaera Posted January 24, 2012 I generally keep them hanging around my bedroom (which sounds wrong as I type it out). The majority of them hang out on top of the entertainment center. (Tia, Aki and Yuki in front with Rinrin up top). A couple may go over to the desk.. (Phyla and Saber) or to the nightstand.. (Aya and Zoe) or hang out on the bartop between the kitchen and the den. kymaera Posted January 24, 2012 Your "M" and "Aya" are so pretty! I love them both! Thanks for the kind words. I passed on your compliments. M: "You grovel well, worm. I may let you survive when the new world order is established." Aya: "I'd like to say that I am thankful for all my kind fans and their well wishes. It warms my heart to know that others are thinking well of me. However, I think I'm legally obligated to remind you that the 'no contact' restraining order I have against you is still in effect from that 'look with your eyes, not your hands' incident at last year's concert." atrika Posted March 7, 2012 oh wow! i had an ikea cabinet that i used to keep all doll items in their boxes. but the growing numbers of different kind of dolls i had to separate them. the bjd's are in a trunk, while the others are lined in boxes. my DDS, shame of me to say, is in her plastic bag. because she is white skin and her face looks so awwwwwww i feel its my duty to protect her all my might! also, when im with my dolls im a totally different personality with my normal life, so they are well hidden, my studio is also my office, while its ok for some, but for me it's unprofessional and have people judge my character based on this particular hobby is too much ~ Maridah and I had been keeping all of our dolls in a tall Ikea Besta case with glass doors, but with seven dolls currently and four more on the way, plus plans for more in the future, we were out of space. We got this new case today, Ikea calls it the Smadal. I think it fits the doll aesthetic very well, with the striped inside background and vaguely antique style. This is a great case for DDs - if you use smaller stands like the metal Volks or round Cool Cat ones, you could easily fit ten dolls inside. The only limitation is that there's not a huge amount of headroom, so if you have a very thick stand and very high heels, it could possibly be an issue, but all of ours are fine with a bit of room to spare. You'll have to excuse Maridah's Iplehouse Arvid - his outfit hasn't arrived yet! He and E-An (my BJD girl) are in the case temporarily while we take the other case apart to adjust the shelf height. The other case is taller, so there's room for two shelves of 70cm size dolls, and therefore it's going to be the dedicated case for BJDs, while the new case will be for DDs only. (And will be basically full when the two Sabers arrive!) Here's the cabinet closed: New Doll Cabinet (Closed) by otakushots, on Flickr And open, so you can get an idea of what the internal space is like. GebGeb Posted March 11, 2012 I keep my DD in a Ikea display case. I find it sad to have her there all the time but I'm afraid of the dust Atrika, I really love your cabinet! It's beautiful !
battrastard Posted March 17, 2012 Most of the time, Tana likes to hang out on her bed that I made in my shelves that were purchased thru Target, IMG_2779 by rattbastard, on Flickr Or, she'll hang out on my TV cabinet, making sure that I'm paying attention to her... IMG_0352 by rattbastard, on Flickr Either way, I don't think I'll put her away in a cabinet or anything.... (although, I do need to make her hair look better. Going to get some hair-care products soon-ish) "Madness takes it's toll, Please have exact change!"
baldylox Posted March 17, 2012 I love that second pic of Tana... the outfit she has on is way cute! And the bandana is also a nice touch. Speaking of hair, what do you brush her hair with? I used to use a toothbrush on all mine but have now switched to a pet grooming metal comb. It's non-static and it works soooo much better than the toothbrushes do. Even on short wigs, I think it's a good buy. And if you are wanting "product" for her wig, I used the Volks hair spray before and it helps keep the hair shiny and slick looking. battrastard Posted March 17, 2012 Billy: I'm thinking of a comb/brush of some sort, and some Volks spray, maybe some of the Water Wax I've read about. I usually just give the wig a good shake when it's off, then smooth it with my fingers, or sometimes use the small end of my comb. The vest and bandanna are from Mr. Bear! He's a Boyds "Biker" Bear that I'd gotten for xmas many years ago, sitting in this Ginormous mug. I brought him into my room, thinking Tana needed something to hug and cuddle, then I had a flash of imagination: "That vest looks like it might fit!" So............. If my understanding is correct, the water wax is for styling hair, like the ahoge hairs on Ryomou and Saber that stick up by themselves. So I don't think that will work unless that's what you are going for. The wig spray works well in keeping the wigs shiny and more managable. That's too funny that you are using bear clothing! I too found some bear clothes that fit well enuff to pass as DD outfits. The vest and bandana suit Tana well! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. GothicKDM Posted April 11, 2012 My DD lingers between the dresser and the kitchen table, or upstairs with me when im knitting/making things so i can use her to see how things fit XD. I have bookcases in my living room from ikea that my dolls sit on, theres also a sauders heavy duty bookcase i bought for books, but it ended up in my bedroom because its just so heavy, most of my resin dolls sit on that one, with tupperwear boxes on the bottom with random things. I never worry about dust really or sunlight because for one where these places are, no sunlight hits. I also have four cats, but overall they have left my dolls alone, only going after smaller dolls (like my FR's and such) hands on occation. My one gets up on my dresser every morning, right next to my Neris and proceeds to push things off until i wake up, but hes never tried to shove her off, its just like little things, like a little glass bowl, or a headcap XD
Lumirei Posted April 11, 2012 My girls are usually sitting on top of my bookshelf turned TV stand since its the only place I don't have to worry about my curious cats knocking them down. c.c Sadly once Saber Alter 2 arrives I will need to find a different spot because it only has enough room to fit my current girls on it and they like to sit together XD Happily at home:Lumière, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Vivienne, Altria, Lilith, Claire, Sakuya, Sakura, Haruhi, Aurelia, Melty, Miyako, Unnamed 03, Mariko (student), Momo, Miku, Snow Miku and Asuna. DefectiveAngel Posted April 21, 2012 Just for fun, pics of my girls on my bed which is where they stay pretty much all the time. Full pic showing how they are set up on my bed. Rina, Yoko, and Allison make up one side Sara, Yuki, and Sakura make up the other side. I really don't think I would want them any where else. It's so nice being able to wake up to them every morning. ^_^
Waynio Posted April 21, 2012 (although, I do need to make her hair look better. Going to get some hair-care products soon-ish) I understand about messy hair. I use a small comb on Aoi, but traveling with her so much, her hair gets messy really easy. Wayne
denaliwind Posted April 26, 2012 My little one is in her carrying case! D: But... that's because her torso is being replaced by Volks... Once she's whole again, she'll probably sit on my computer desk most of the time (but I have a tendency to carry around my dolls, so where I go, she'll go too.) Innocentsake Posted April 27, 2012 Momoko is always hanging out with my other girls in the living room on her couch by the cabinet filled with figures Which is why photos always get taken there hehe~ I love that while I'm on my computer that I can look in front of me and see her there looking so cheery ^O^ I worry about dust, but my husband tells me that I pay so much attention to her that I don't give dust the chance to settle Plus I always give her a wipe down and sometimes a spray of air to get whatever dust has settled on her off in a flash! And sometimes I'll have her sit on the couch with me just because it's fun to do
archangeli Posted April 27, 2012 This is the corner where my girls hang out.
