Where can I get a white DDdy full body?

Recommended Posts

Urbanliner

So I decided to wager on a nice head on YJA (which I haven't won, but very close to IMO). Unfortunately, it's white and it looks like Volks is not selling white bodies anymore, just the heads, frames, hands, and maybe more, but not bodies or body parts.

Does this mean I can no longer obtain white body parts without looking for them in Mandarake or such?

Thanks in advance.

Volks did do a WS DD3 body a little while ago but it seems they either aren't restocking it or have just been lazy doing it. So if you're after a DD body in WS then your only real option is the aftermarket like Ebay, YJA or Mandarake.

As for the WS DDdy body, there was only one girl released with that body, the Alna Christmas version. They made no replacement parts for her like different busts or thighs and lower torso but the regular WS hands, feet, arms and shins are all the same as the DD2. If you're after a WS DDdy body, you're in for a long fight because they very rarely come up on their own since Alna was the only girl to have one. She comes up for sale here and there and usually runs around $400-$450 nude and $600-$700 complete.

I hope you can figure something out for the head you have. If not, you can always find a similar head in NS or SWS and go from there.

I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Great. So there are no new white bodies being made. Especially DDdy. At least someone made a higher bid on the head, so I don't have a head laying around as I search everywhere for the body that matches the head.

But what is a NS or SWS? Still new to this hobby, so just wondering.

NS is forum shorthand for "normal skin," and SWS is for "semi-white skin." Semi-white is a step in between Volks white skin and normal skin, which is still pretty pale in comparison to normal but is less stainable than white skin.

Semi-white and normal are the colors Volks works with most often, so if you find a head in one of those colors that you really like, it's pretty easy to get a body that will match (or be close to matching, depending on age). Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only white skin DDs that have been produced and haven't had rereleases in semi-white are Nia Teppelin and Saber Alter. So if you're dead set on a specific sculpt in white skin, there's a pretty good chance you could also find it in semi-white and save yourself some trouble.

My bad reading ability made me think they're the shops or something to buy heads from :/

Anyway, thanks for the information! However, the problem here is the face up style on the head I was bidding on isn't common IMO, and I'll have to just pray that the maker makes another one with more commonly colored heads instead, or attempt to do it myself (which isn't this thread's topic) just to get the style.

Again, thanks.

You can make a whole DD3 white skinned body from parts. It's just the Dy that isn't available. DDS and 3 are (all bust sizes) are in stock at the moment.

That's a good news. Still, why wouldn't Volks make white parts for DDdy? Considering they made a white DDdy before, why wouldn't they make white parts for DDdy?

It could simply be that it's not a popular skin choice.

Especially since the chances of staining is really high on white skin dolls. I notice that white skin items never sell out, esp seeing the DDH-10 whites being in stock the whole time(SWS and NS were all sold out at one point). And the holding hands at Volks USA, the white skin hands are still there while SWS and NS are sold out as well. So they probably just didn't bother since only 1 DDy is white skin and probably not many owners of said WS DDy.

Although I am not one to speak, I don't really know how Volks does their business practices.

Just how like everyone is confused why they are so reluctant at making a proper male DD.

Well, the staining risk I know, but there should be a demand for replacement parts for DDdy since a white DDdy exists. How did they not think of that, and make small amount of white DDdy bodies?

With the male DD case considered too, Volks' people are hard to understand for me :/

Oddly enuff, Volks never made ALL parts available for their original DDdy bodies.... they never released the vinyl parts for just the thighs or lower torso. Everything else was available except those. Why they chose not to do that is still a mystery..... Volks is Volks and there's no rhyme or reason to what they do.

The good news is that you can buy ALL parts for the newer bodies like the DDdy3. The only drawback is that they come with the skeleton parts already in them and that raises the pricing from just getting the vinyl shells like you used to be able to. But if you're trying to build a body from parts and doing it over time then it's a good way to do it.

I didn't know they had the parts available to build an entire WS body tho, that's awesome! But it still begs the question.... Why don't they offer the WS body as a whole, complete body? Again, Volks is Volks so their thought process is way different than ours. It might be like Mario said and the WS bodies and parts just aren't as popular in Japan as they are elsewhere. It's the only reason I can think of.

You have to remember that in Japan, Volks major market, exclusives and low numbered runs of items are EXTREMELY popular. The white skinned Alna with the DDdy body was made in low numbers and collectors there like that. Why stock body parts for an exclusive body when anyone could buy all the parts separately and build their own WS DDdy that way? Then the exclusivity is gone and Volks has upset customers. I can't say that this is the reason for it but looking at how they've done things in the past and how their market model seems to work, it's the one thing that makes sense.

Volks also made two MDD WS girls years ago and they NEVER made any replacement parts for those either. I had one of those bodies and would have loved more hands for it but Volks didn't make any so my girl had to just have the default hands. I finally sold that body and got her a SWS MDD3 body so now she's more posable and has more hands. The color match isn't perfect form the body to the head but since she's older, her WS has yellowed a little and she's pretty close to the SWS color now.

Well, now I kinda understand why. Still, exclusiveness is one thing, but the white DDdy is too exclusive that they'll left to yellow and stain, their numbers slowly decrease as healthier bodies become spare parts...

Anyway, thanks for your opinion!
