kinkachou Posted January 31, 2017 What's the origin behind your username on this forum? I know some answers to this are simple and others are detailed and personal but if you'd like to share it'd be cool to hear Black lives matter.
Gabriel Posted January 31, 2017 It's the name of one of my characters I made up decades ago in the pen and paper RPGs I play. My user pic is unrelated. It's just the same one I use everywhere that I bother to upload one, and it's been that since about midway through me watching Yamato 2199.
Minty Posted January 31, 2017 Mint was the name I was using online at the time I signed up. My first dollfie dream is even named Mint. Unfortunately, I didn't get the confirmation email for when I signed up as Mint and used a different email address to sign up as Minty instead.
sinclair Posted January 31, 2017 I've had mine since the mid 90's. I'd have the superscript TM if the interwebs were more friendly to that kind of thing. In my high school there was a computer lab (Made up of all Mac LCIIs.) that the teacher allowed us to have a computer gaming club. Nice they were all 'networked' together (Good old AppleTalk.) we'd play network games more often than not. The fav was Bolo. At the time I was a big Babylon 5 fan (Still am.) and upset at the departure of the 1st season commander, Jeffery Sinclair. So I picked sinclair as my handle in Bolo. Macs allow for easy superscript, if you know what you are doing, and I added that to the end when someone else thought it'd be funny to start using my handle. They never did figure out how to add the superscript (Like a typical bully they weren't very bright.) so it became permanent. There are still some guys I run into from HS that call me Sinclair IRL, not sure if they ever learned my real name. So I've always used it since. As for the pic, that was the most anime like choice on the first forum I ever signed up on, and I've used it just about everywhere since until I've been on long enough to bother picking something else. SolicitorPirate Posted February 1, 2017 Mine came from law school. Well, sort of. I was lucky enough to score an internship with a good firm while I was a student, and me and a bunch of the other interns became pretty good friends. Being wide eyed law students, we were all super eager to impress, but the lawyers didn't always have work for us since we were y'know, interns and they couldn't trust us to do anything important. So most our days were spent twiddling our thumbs in the library, except for when a lawyer needed us to research something, at which point we'd make a mad rush through our resources so we could do a good job. I had watched a dobleepentary about pirates around the same time, which mentioned the day to day life of a pirate was prolonged periods of boredom and tedium with occasionally bursts of high intensity, which I thought was kinda similar to our current situation. It then grew into a weird in joke about us starting a law firm on a pirate ship, and that kinda morphed into what I now use as my username
Remmah Posted February 2, 2017 My name comes from my other nickname Remean, which most of my friends call me. Which I got by a stroke of luck and highlighter, long ago I was needing to name a new character and someone suggested using a wordfind to come up with new original names... so I got one, closed my eyes and swiped... and ended up with REMEAN... well that eventually got mutated into Remmah. But most people just call me Rem.
Eustia Posted February 2, 2017 Mine is a character from a VN/manga I know nothing about. I bought a figure of her years ago because she was really pretty. Then I was signing up here and wasn't sure what name to go with, and happened to glance at my figures and she caught my eye since she has a significant presence due to her large wings. http://myfigurecollection.net/item/72376 is the figure in question. Thespian Posted February 2, 2017 I was playing an online round of Cards Against Humanity a few years ago (search xyzzy if you're interested and never done it before), but all of the names I kept thinking of were taken. I kind of dredged an old "fish heads" song that my dad likes to sing out of the dark recesses of my memory and played a few games as "fishbuttz." It's stuck ever since, mostly because it's always available! 1 Kiyomi DDS DDH-06 🧡 Miyuki DDS DDH-06 🧡 Shiori DDS Mariko Summer Festival 🧡 Kanade DDDy DDH-07 🧡 Honoka DD DDH-09 🧡 Priyanka DDS Anthy Himemiya Any pronouns are fine

Gunter Posted February 3, 2017 Gunter is short for Gunter von Christ. Once upon a time I liked this series: https://myanimelist.net/character/1968/Gunter_von_Christ I ended up with if after I couldn't use my usual username on Den of Angels. Just ended up as my staple doll and figure related sites. Cut off the "von Christ" when I don't have to have it. I actually just like the name Gunter, and happily use it even if my love for the series and character isn't so much there anymore.
Cauldroness Posted February 3, 2017 Mine is from Sailormoon! At the end of the manga, you meet Guardian Cosmos who watches over the Galaxy Cauldron. I liked the idea a lot -- a cauldron "where stars, and possibilities, are born..." -- so I slapped an "ess" on the end and became Cauldroness. I've been using the same name since 2006. For my avatar, I always use an image of Rabi en Rose from Di Gi Charat. I'm actually not a huge fan of the property but I really like Rabi's design, plus the series has been going on so long that it's always easy to find fun new images of her. 1 Doll Photos & Doll Jewelry Sales: Follow me on Instagram! kinkachou Posted February 4, 2017 buncho, you didn't say what yours was! Oh! Mine's pretty mundane and maybe even a little silly... I'm a huge bird lover, especially small domestic birds. I had a budgie who lived to be 12 years old (had to put him down this past New Year's Eve, unfortunately ), my partner has owned zebra finches and society finches... The kind of bird that's caught my attention the most recently is the java finch/java rice sparrow/java sparrow. They're very popular pets in Japan and are really tame! They even have a day dedicated to them!(http://en.rocketnews24.com/2015/10/29/happy-java-sparrow-day-pet-owners-celebrate-their-adorable-birds-on-twitter%E3%80%90photos%E3%80%91/) I think they're super cute and the Japanese word for them, "buncho" is just about as cute as the birds themselves. My avatar is a picture of one. Black lives matter.

SeikoKitsune Posted February 18, 2017 These are fun! For mine, "Seiko" is from the made-up codename "Sayko" my sister gave me when we played spies as kids. "Kitsune" is Japanese for fox because I like some kinds of Japanese things like anime, etc., and my favorite wild animal is the fox. I probably would have put "SeikoFox" except the term fox can mean attractive/sexy. My favorite animal of any kind is the dog, but that can be used as an insult, sooooo... SeikoKitsune! baldylox Posted February 21, 2017 My screen name has been the same ever since I got online back in 1999. I'm Baldylox because: DSC_7555 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Well duh! Really tho, it's basically from when I still had hair but was getting a bald spot on top of my head. My so called buddies at the time started calling me "Baldy" and then it progressed to when I decided to shave my head completely..... there was no hair left until I got lazy and didn't shave for a few days. Someone said "Oh look! It's Baldylocks and the Three Hairs!" So funny..... Anyways, there's the origin story so now you all know..... and knowing's half the battle! GEEEEE EYEEEE JOEEEEE! kranberrijam Posted February 24, 2017 Mine came from a combination of things. Anybody remember the "Guilty Gear" games? Back when they were big my favorite character was Kuradoberi Jam. So when I started playing "Ragnarok Online" I wanted my main character to be a thief and while trying to decide on a name sleep-depraved me thought it would be fun to name my character "Kranberri Jam" because I liked how it rolled off my tongue and make reference to a character I liked. Typically I've gone by "Bunnychan" on all my online accounts, but not long after I started RO, it was clear many people wanted that username and it had already been claimed in some areas. So I just fell back on using my RO thief's name, never thinking it would stick, but hey, here we all more than a decade later (been using it at least 15 years). My favorite part of that name is when people say, "You know you spelled cranberry wrong, right?" Me: My avatars change on all sites all the time, I just use whatever I happen to like at the moment. Anna-neko Posted February 24, 2017 Someone said "Oh look! It's Baldylocks and the Three Hairs!" So funny..... see, and here I thought it was a Bill Bailey joke! Think it was on QI .. or maybe another similar panel show, but at one point his into was literally "Oh, is that the bald man with the long hair?" Anyway, my turn Chise is actually a break from the handle I been using on interwebz since AOL came on floppy disks (ya heard me!) She is from SaiKano... a series that's goddamn sadness porn, but the way the protags are utter idiots about a serious relationship spoke to me on a molecular level
battrastard Posted February 24, 2017 The "Battrastard" thing goes way back to my time in the service, in Germany, when I'd write/scratch in "Rat Was Here". Eventually, a squad member called me out on it, then I was called "That Rat Ba57ard". Later on, when I really got heavy into paintball,(still have a lot of "Old School" gear, might have to post some pics of those) I was called R D Ratt, for Rick Da Ratt. I just combined the two together and swapped the R and B around and threw an extra T in for the giggles.. 1 "Madness takes it's toll, Please have exact change!"
