The 48th anniversary of Doctor Who!

Happy TARDIS Day, everyone! The brilliant British sci-fi series Doctor Who turns 48 today!

It's both the longest-running and most successful sci-fi series out there, according to Guinness!

Oh yay~! Happy 48th Anniversary my precious Doctor Who~! My husband and I absolutely adore this show. Once you start watching you literally cannot stop! Now that we're done and waiting for the Christmas Special (which looks amazing~!), we are watching Torchwood and that is getting all kinds of good as well!

 

Who is your favorite Doctor? The 10th Doctor will always be my Doctor

Ten is my Doctor, but Eight is slowly encroaching on his territory.

I'm so super happy about the Christmas special because of the Narnia references~ I've seen all of Torchwood except for Miracle Day, and I'm in love with it all~

I've always heard that the 8th Doctor was the favorite among many fans which makes me awfully curious! I'll have to find the episodes with 8th Doctor and see for myself sometime My husband has been watching some of the original episodes of the 1st Doctor, but he too wants to see what the 8th Doctor is all about

 

And yes~! I love all the Narnia references, so fun! I adored the Children in Need short that Matt Smith did, it was hilarious along with getting a sneak peek of the Christmas Special

 

My husband and I just started the 3rd season of Torchwood so we're getting there!

 

Hehe and I totally told my husband that I want to commission someone to make a Doctor Who outfit for my Saber Nero! Why? Because cosplay is cool

Eight was only in the TV movie, sadly. He did have a series of over 70 books called the Eighth Doctor Adventures. I love him to death because he's so adorable~ Also, his actor hugged a Dalek.

 

The Narnia references just make me giggle so much~ I saw the Children In Need special too, it was funny how his clothes disappeared.

 

I'm a big shipper of Jack and Ianto, and I absolutely hate Gwen. I want to smack her for the way she acts.

 

I would love to give my girl a DW cosplay! Perhaps the TARDIS from The Doctor's Wife?

Oh that's right, I'd forgotten he only had that TV movie (thus why people say you never got to see him regenerate into the 9th Doctor). So I guess I'll have to find that movie :3 And that's pretty awesome that he has over 70 books on his adventures!!! And wow, hugging a Dalek is just win right there

 

Hehe yes yes when I saw that part my husband was like "You know you're loving this part" to which I nodded happily

 

Jack and Ianto are so good together! And yeah >.>;;; Gwen is so messed up, I yell at her a lot when we're watching Torchwood and she's doing stupid things (which happens ALOT).

But I looked a little and I couldn't find a Who thread...

 

I'm watching Evolution of the Daleks right now, it's Ten era. Ive only seen new Who but I'm gearing up to watch older ones this summer:)

I reallly want Koschei and Theta Sigma dolls... I'm may get a MDD to cross play as Kos...or get an Obitsu body. I recently found out my old savings account had more money that I thought it had in it so I can treat myself a little!

I knew we had a Doctor Who thread on here somewhere, but failed at digging it up!

 

I too am a newly turned Whovian, who started with the 2005 series. I'm in the middle of the 2011 batch now, and later will probably watch Torchwood (while the recent stuff is still fresh), and eventually some of the classic series. I think the Tenth/David Tennant is probably my favorite, but Ninth and Eleventh are also both *quite* awesome. After all, the leather jacket is fantastic and bowties are cool. At any rate, the show is seriously addictive, and now I'm tempted to get that sonic screwdriver keychain from Think Geek, even though the idea of it in Agatha's hands is somewhat nightmare inducing.
