New items? (Smart doll lower half?)

Possibly. Danny did mention on Twitter that they're focusing on the license stuff.

I really do hope they fix up spike's torso, then it will finally get rid of that weird deformations on his face to the body.

Indeed. I would say the one in the back is definitely female with that hip curve. the one up front, though. maybe a boy as the hips are not strongly apparent... but then again it's not as far made as the back one.

Yea, it's probably torso's for upcoming licensed dolls. But imagine if it were optional parts for torsos. I wonder how profitable that would be. Personally I've never purchased just torsos before for volks or anything else for that matter.

Could it be part of that metal-clad version? I don't remember her name right now.

Interesting, I'm not so familiar with Smart Doll bodies, but comparing photos the new 3d printed one looks more shapely, and her belly has different definition. Maybe she's slightly thicker/curvier as you say?

Just to have a comparison in the same thread. Here is an image of the current body. I do not see much different with the torso myself, but does anyone else notice that the thighs in the 3d printed picture are more rounded/curvy? And notice how the panties fit around the leg joints? It looks off to me, like extra round joints. . . maybe just because they are 3d printed parts instead of vinyl? Maybe working on altering the hip joints and legs specifically? IDK.

It could be an alteration! Though, I think making molds for casting causes some shrinkage, so it could be thicker for that reason, too.

 

Edit: That being said, if it IS a body with thicker thighs, and it's compatible with the super small bust, I will definitely be interested.

Now that you mention it, Danny did say that Mirai's younger sister, Haruka, would be available as a doll this year. . . so if it is a new size it might be related to her? The 3d body does not look smaller to me. . . but that does not necessarily mean anything.

It looks like the only thing unaltered in the prototype body shown is the head, lower arms, and hands (since we cannot see the feet). Would the proportions be right if he kept the head, hands, and lower arms with a smaller body? Maybe if it was something like a DDS size? Who knows, he migh be making 3d parts of those too and just used what he had to make us sit here and guess like this.
