zen07894 Posted May 24, 2017 Still haven't received any email from entry in Dolpa yet, hope this is one of the cases that people did not receive any notification emails, but the dolls eventually arrived at their places after released.

Monty Posted May 24, 2017 I'm more surprised at the one bid on that. Does that mean it's the bidder themself that raised it so high? @zen: sorry to hear about your bad news. The scenario you describe doesn't really sound likely though. But there's still one hour left... *twitter*instagram*art*
zen07894 Posted May 24, 2017 My buying agent has already agreed to give me back my deposit (~10,000 yens), but I choose to wait until July, as I have searched on 2ch and twitter and saw some people reported that on the last Dolpa lottery (Kyoto 14), they didn't receive any notification emails, but the dolls were eventually delivered to their place. If my buying agent won, I would need to pay ~90,000 yens in total, which is same as most of the prices on YAJ now. For people who are interested in why I need to pay such a high price, I hope I can explain clearly in here (I live in Hong Kong and it is common for people to ask local hobby shops/ dollfie shops/ buying agents to buy exclusive goods from events in Japan. Usually, the prices are dependent on the currency rate. e.g. on the last few months the exchange rate for yens to HKD is around 0.07 (100 yen = 7 HKD) in bank and for this rate, the agents will usually quote 0.1 (100 yen = 10 HKD) for all the goods you want to buy. For my case, the tax-in price for Renee is ~61000 yen + local and international shipping = ~63,000 yen, 63,000 yen * 0.1 = 6300 HKD, which is approximately equal to 90,000 yen.) Bidding on YAJ will be my last chance of getting Renee and I hope the price will not be higher than 90,000 yens or even slightly go down after release, so I may get a better deal by asking my friend in Japan to bid for me without additional charges. Monty Posted May 25, 2017 It's disappointing to see that the new lottery system didn't really curtail the scalpers. But I guess they could have been Dolpa or store entries. I know no payment was necessary at Dolpa to enter and I assume instore as well - I think the new rules are only for online entries. Even though less scalpers may have gotten hold of them when you discourage the online ones, it only means the ones that do now they price them even higher due to that. I'm looking forward to seeing whether Volks is going to keep this system for the next lottery... *twitter*instagram*art*

It could also be said that it was too successful and because so few scalpers have Kirito there's barely any on YAJ which would naturally increase his value. =/ I'm surprised there's so few for sale but maybe people are waiting to either receive them or production was much lower than demand? SAO is crazy popular and he's the first male DD size so could also be that everyone that got him intended on keeping him.

Pretty sure it wasn't there to curtail scalpers but to minimize the amount of PO cancellations in the West, which had led to a lot of on-site available stockpiled DDs, like ranka sheryl miku and rin ren. Monty Posted May 25, 2017 I think it was a little of both. If it's only the non Japanese people that flake out they wouldn't have made it also affect domestic web orders....unless they just didn't want to be obvious about it lol. Of course I don't know how common flaking is on domestic web orders so maybe that's a problem too. *twitter*instagram*art*

NeeP Posted June 5, 2017 I have a question for those of you more experienced with the whole Lottery system... In your opinion, what are the odds of cancellations on SAO Asuna and Kirito lotteries? I am wondering because as a lottery loser, I would jump at the opportunity of a second chance of getting the DD boy... And I just wanna know if I am just dreaming... Niki P. It honestly depends on the doll and how many were made. Some dolls, like Rin and Len, had a seemingly high cancellation rate, causing them to be on sale for months after the lottery. You can never really predict what Volks will do :/ Currently at home: Kagamine Len, Kirito, 06 head, Akira head.

I think there's a small chance, especially because upfront payment wasn't required for domestic orders, so most cancelled orders would be unpaid. I don't know if there'd be any cancelled international ones at all, because that would require a refund and I don't know if they allow that. But I think it's likely it will be a clickwar, unlike the recent cases which are still there I believe. If there are any left after the clickwar I'd be surprised because I don't imagine there being very many. Unless it's specifically Kirito you wanted I wouldn't worry too much. They'll definitely make more DD boys - even if they come out as sporadically as MDDs. They wouldn't make a new body otherwise. Hopefully they sell the parts separate before the next one, though. DDP too. *twitter*instagram*art*

I had some simple plans for the Kirito doll, but might be able to do the same thing with another boy DD-sized doll. I hope Volks does release the two boy bodies separately and soon. Niki P. Mario Posted June 9, 2017 A picture of Emilia has shown up on Volks' Twitter I don't know why, but her eye shape really bugs me. >< It could just be that it's not a close up shot.
Monty Posted June 9, 2017 Yeah, same... Her face kind of reminds me of Akiyama Mio, a sculpt I'm really not that fond of. The pinhole mouth doesn't really suit her imo. But eh, Volks official photos and all. Shape aside her actual eyes are really pretty. That was what I was most excited to see. *twitter*instagram*art*
Lore Posted June 9, 2017 This was the doll I was looking forward to the most out of the LE's and she's disappointed me. I really hope more pictures of her head will show up soon to change my mind, but looking at the eye shape and pinched/puckered(?) mouth it's not doing anything for me. The good points I see are the accessories and outfit. They look really cute and captures the character quite well. (altho Volks has been known to change details when they release clothes at a later time) I REALLY want to see those elf ears though as that was the biggest selling point for me to consider entering the lotto. I missed out on Melty and her ears are so dang cute. I might actually save up for a secondhand Melty instead of entering the lotto for Emila...who knows. Monty Posted June 9, 2017 99.9% sure she'll be a lottery doll for Dolpa in August. The new Volks news is out on Monday, and will have the info for August Dolpa in it, so unless they've got a surprise up their sleeve I'm guessing she's it. I'm happy, means there's a greater chance of 2b/9s being preorder.(unless i just jinxed it and they end up as the December lotteries) What I'm interested in is if they're going to do the payment thing the same way they handled the last lottery dolls. Guess we'll know on monday. *twitter*instagram*art*
