Also found him as Kaito, which makes me glad I ignored the initial urge to get him to make into Kaito as well because...yeah I'm just not keen on this sculpt to be honest.

 

I still look forward to seeing other peoples refaceups; that one I posted is a vast improvement on his original one imo. His ducklips just look real awkward to me.

The mouth on that repaint is particularly good. (Actually, looks like they left the default eyebrows?) Widening the mouth line did wonders for making him look more like a guy! Thanks for that link, Torino.

Good choice! Eventually just a slight glossy finish is ok, imo, as long as it's not so shiny like the other one!

Welp, the moment I had been waiting for has arrived, and volks updated the terms for international orders for Emilia,

and its the same drill as with Asuna and Kirito, which is payment for lottery entry, and waiting for what happens, which is either a doll or refund.

 

Entry-payment window is between the 26'th and 27'th, which seems a bit short, but goes with the after event timeframe. and results will be in on the 30th.

 

Shipping would start september 1st already.. so have to wonder about available ammounts.

That timeframe is so short it seems odd to even do the refund thing. A lot might happen in the usual month or two between entering/payment required, but it's hard to imagine someone flaking/opting out after 3-4 days...

 

I gotta admit this does make me wonder if the new payment method will affect preorders at all.

Well, the theory behind this has already been discussed, and I still believe its quite the effective counter measure for mass entry farms, since every entry has to have some finance behind it now...

The professional flipper is still probably going to have the means for some entries, but thats how it is.

 

After thinking about it for more than 20 minutes, the shorter time space from entry to possible cancelation could be to reduce the negative effect on your financial bet on the matter.

I wouldnt be too surprised if they come up with a 10-20% non refundable down payment for the next preorder dolls.

Full payment could be a choise there too, since didnt Volks USA have that as an option, and in a way that makes sense since the doll is paid for in full, but you just have to wait for the year for delivery, but dont have to worry about exchange rates working against you.

But should probably find out soon enough since the Im@s threesome are nearing delivery, opening up that venue.

With all that's going on I kinda want to not do it but she might be horrible to get later if I decide she will work. It'd be easier if I could have someone lined up for her clothes and things that I won't keep.

How likely is it that the character you have in mind would match well with a future Volks (or other vinyl) release? If a better match seems likely, or at least not unlikely, it may be better to wait for such a doll.

Tbh she seems very unique. Only one who looks much like her at all structurally is Mio and Mio is not only not quite right but I already have one shelled as Ea so... Probably not.

I wanted to ask, does anyone think that Emilia would look really good as a kitsune? I feel like that kinda make-up would be really flattering and because she's so angler that she's already kinda got a "fox's face." Or is it just me that sees this? ^^;
