sinclair Posted May 24, 2017 She's multiplying!! Come on Danny, make Haruka in this size and I won't be able to throw money at you fast enough.
Kodama Posted May 29, 2017 While I think the specs he's giving for a "PC" version, is not feasible, (1080 would melt the doll) a persacom like setup that links to the cell phone, with robotics for arm, torso and head, are doable in this size.. Tablet grade hardware would work though.. I'd be happy with just a Doll version of this..

sinclair Posted June 2, 2017 I'd be happy with just a Doll version of this.. That's all I want. My Haruka doesn't need electronic guts. But at this size he should be able to do poseable fingers.
senyac Posted July 14, 2017 Danny just posted a video from Hyper Japan London on FB where he states 1/3 Smartdoll is $430 pounds (can't find the pounds key) and the 1/2 Smart Doll is $6000 pounds???? that got to be a joke I hope because that's $10000 AUD

Monty Posted July 14, 2017 I'm assuming that's either a joke or he's willing to reluctantly give up his prototype for that much lol. (If it's not a joke then yikes. I refuse to believe he's being serious) *twitter*instagram*art*
senyac Posted July 14, 2017 they certainly will not be on my shopping list if that is there real price for the mass produced version I hope your right and its just for the prototype
K-2 Posted July 14, 2017 (edited) Just as a point of comparison, the Obitsu 150cm is 198,000yen, currently just under $2000. http://www.obitsu.co.jp/doll/150.html Edited July 14, 2017 by Guest
sinclair Posted July 14, 2017 So about 10 times the price of a 1/3 girl. That is pricey. If it had been 2-3 times the price, I could swing it, but the current price is way above my credit limit. Guess that really give me time to save in hope he'll make the girl I want in 1/2 sized.
savahn Posted July 14, 2017 (edited) Mirai Mannequin at 6000 pounds? ugh Edited July 14, 2017 by Guest
Misuka Posted July 14, 2017 If the price point isn't somewhere around the obitsu cost, it won't sell at all.
K-2 Posted July 14, 2017 When things get bigger the weight goes way up. Internals have to be a lot stronger, joints stiffer. Maybe Danny's talking about the version outfitted with the CPU, etc.
Shizusan Posted July 14, 2017 I'm a huge fan of smartdoll and Danny choo. I know that it takes time and money to create his products but 6000 pounds? That's $7848.00, it's already hard enough to get people to take the plunge to buy a $500 to $2000 doll. But an almost $8000 doll??? Please tell me that is the price if you want the prototype. I'm super hyped and want to buy Mannequin Mirai but I have a family and kids. Sorry Danny Sam but l have to pass if that's the "real" price
Monty Posted July 14, 2017 For what is apparently $7800USD/more than $10000AUD, I would expect it to be a high-spec computer that can also cook me meals. Seeing as, unless i'm mistaken, it's literally just a bigger version of the 1/3 model but with less poseability (he explictly stated the big ones dont pose as well), then unless he's joking I think he's lost it... or he just doesn't actually want sell it yet and that's his way of saying so. Resin dolls of that size rarely exceed $2000USD. The sad thing is that the price is so high it only takes one person to buy it for it to be 'worth it' to price it at that. And given how rabid some of his followers are with anything he slaps his name on...someone probably will. At the end of the day I wasn't going to buy one whether its $10,000AUD or $10 AUD, so it has no real effect on me either way. I'm just still gonna be really disappointed/shocked/(/disgusted? Disgusted might be too strong a word) if he isn't joking. *twitter*instagram*art*
savahn Posted July 14, 2017 We're kinda jumping the gun here. Let's just wait till this mannequin is officially launched.
Nozomi02 Posted July 14, 2017 It's officially a joke. The mannequin wasn't for sale. I heard from someone who went to hyper Japan and talked to Danny. magique Posted July 14, 2017 The specs for the computer were clearly not too feasible, but I had at least hoped that the 1/2 doll wouldn't be a joke. So no giant anime dollies? Aw, that sucks.
Nozomi02 Posted July 14, 2017 Sorry if I wasn't clear. He'll still be selling the mannequins, just not that one at hyper Japan, and not for 6,000 euros. As far as I know he's still planning on selling them once he gets production going. magique Posted July 14, 2017 Oh, neato! Okay, the 1/2 doll is still on. The dolls would make such a cool mannequin, it'll be fun to make clothes for her. C: Thanks!
Monty Posted July 15, 2017 Good to know he isn't off his rocker One can never be sure given how he prices some of the clothing. *twitter*instagram*art*
sinclair Posted July 15, 2017 As for clothes, my thought was also to head to Target or Walmart to buy her things. Outfits for 4-6 year olds should be about right. Even local thrift stores for really cheap.
