Volks News Vol.73

I prefer that version of Rin's, but I prefer the version of Len's that they went with. But I agree the lack of black is surprising because yellow/black is so strongly associated with that song. I always assumed that Volks would prioritise the way outfits look in the sega games to other interpretations and that they'd have gone with the Project Mirai versions.

But oh well, less money I gotta spend. I'm just happy to have an outfit perfectly tailored for Len because it's been hard to find boys stuff exactly his size, it's always been just a little baggy.

I do like Volks Len's, but it's still lacking the black (plus, I personally could just get one outfit and not the other!). And yes, you're right, I would have been fine with the Mirai versions, because they combined both versions (and had black!). Sadly neither my Rin or Len have any other outfits (still) and I know I'll have to modify just about everything I get for Len.

I didn't have any luck getting the Tsuki-no-Kimono Set (Red). From watching a few of these in the past, I had come to the conclusion to go for shoes first and then outfit sets. Of course, this time around I should have gone for the outfit set first as the shoes were still in stock an hour later, but the outfit set sold out within the first few seconds.

 

That was the first thing I added to my cart followed by the Tsuki-no-Kimono Skirt Set (Violet.) Took almost a minute for the pages to load, so this event seemed to have more lag than the last few.

 

If I see them pop up I will PM you, but I don't know how often I will be checking the site.

 

They still have all of the Pink Label, The Vocaloid "Evil" sets, Tenshi-no-Koromo, and most of the lingerie box stuff in stock.

 

I tend to approach the click wars in terms of managed expectations. I always make a mental priority list of what items I want from "must have" down to "it would be nice, but I won't cry if it sells out." Then I go in that order. I never know what is going to be popular and what is not out of the normal clothing sets. I don't waste time chasing the super limited stuff. I figure that's gonna be gone before the page loads, and while its loading I might miss something I have a real chance to get.

 

It doesn't hurt that I tend to go for normal clothing with high mix and match potential, and not the fantasy clothing sets. This stuff is so expensive I go for things I can make 5 outfits out of.

 

For me half the fun of the hobby is dressing game characters like Kos-Mos in street clothing.

 

This time I wanted those kimono sets for my SDs. Belldandy will look neat in the kimono skirt set, and my SD16 will look like a Goddess in the red set.

I hit up Fu kuoka SR today to get the servant of evil set, and had Mel with me so I could change him into it right there in the store at the photo area. The outfit itself is great, I love the material used on the jacket especially.

(The tights he has on here aren't the ones that come with the outfit - he already had these ones on and I didnt see the point in changing them and I don't know if there's any huge difference between the tights in the set and the coolcat tights he had on)

But what I'm most excited about, and what I made this post for, is this, the little loop that comes out of the end of the sleeve.

Have Volks ever done this before? It's such a good idea and made me so happy. Basically it makes it a breeze to get the shirt through the jacket sleeve (something that is the bane of my existence with doll clothes, especially pure neemos), all you gotta do is hook that little loop over the hand (or wrist joint if you're taking the hands off) and the shirt sleeve gets pulled through effortlessly. Then just stuff it back into the sleeve to hide it in photos.

It's just a small touch for this outfit but it improves it so much. I wish they'd done the same for the shirt on Miku's ribbon girl outfit cos that can be annoyng to get through the cardigan sleeves (i basically try to wedge part of the shirt sleeve into the wristhole to pull it through, but this way is much better!

It seems Volks has been incorporating that loop since the re-release of Rin Tousaka. When I got my Rin and saw those loops on her school uniform, I was like FINALLY! That makes it soooo much easier to get shirts on thru jackets!

 

I'm not sure how many other DD releases have them since not many have come with jackets but I sure hope they keep doing it!

That's good to know! Besides the Ribbon Girl set I dont have any other sets that would need them, but I'm glad to hear they've done it for other products too.

The white sweater from the Winter Warm Down Jacket Set also has those loops at the end of the sleeves.

I've looked through the event items several more times and I'm good. I'll just wait for the Anastasia bill from Volks now and maybe find a good deal on Beatrice

Yay! I managed to score one of those Kimono sets I wanted yesterday morning. Shipping is a pain. I'll probably come out about $20 more expensive than if I had just waited for VolksUSA to run the event, but such is the price of impatience.

 

This morning I noticed that Volks Int is running a sale for cancelled lottery items: Super Dollfie Willaims and Cain, and DD Santa Alter and Freyja Wion.

 

After finishing Macross Delta, I find I have a slight desire to get a Freyja, but it's pretty low priority. I still like Ranka and Sheryl better. But if I had a lot more money and space...

Gratz to everyone who got what they were looking for. I've already gotten a shipping notice, so stuff seems to be coming out fast.

Good to hear they're shipping soon. I did miss out on the DD size geta with yellow strap since it never did get restocked the times I reloaded the page over the last few days, but I'll try that again when the collection comes to Volks USA. On the other hand I did get the mini size Tsuki no Kimono and a couple pairs of MSD geta for SDC Renee when she arrives in a couple months. Guess her wardrobe will get here first!
