amarilian Posted April 4, 2017 I recently bought a wig at Mandarake. What company do they go through to make these wigs, and any history etc. would be appreciated, as I didn't know they had their own wig line. These are the dolls you're looking for, no you cannot haz them they r mine:)
Monty Posted April 5, 2017 Mandarake is literally just a second hand hobby store, the wigs are from all over the place. Some the brands aren't known. *twitter*instagram*art*
Mario Posted April 5, 2017 Mandarake is literally just a second hand hobby store, the wigs are from all over the place. Some the brands aren't known. Actually Mandarake has their own wig line called "Himekazura" it's their own brand and everything. But they also do sell secondhand wigs from other brands, but anything labeled "Himekazura" is their own.
Monty Posted April 5, 2017 Interesting, I didn't know that! Most of the wigs I've seen there have all either been old Volks ones or 'dealer' ones. (they never seem to specify which dealer though). So now I'm interested too. *twitter*instagram*art*
SakuraRose Posted April 6, 2017 I just ordered one of their brand wigs, so I'll be sure to post here in a week or two when I receive it.
Mario Posted April 6, 2017 Oh I did forget to mention. I have ordered one before, and I was very unsatisfied with the quality. They are very rough and hard to style. There's also a lot of strands that just don't want to cooperate. This is the one I ordered. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1044863715&ref=list This is just with one experience, I have yet to order anymore because of how unsatisfied I was with the quality. So if anyone else purchases any other wigs of their brand it please let me know your experiences! ><
MugenTenshinFRD Posted April 6, 2017 Actually I have been thinking of buying one too. There are some nice styles and the prices seem ok, but I still prefer Volks wigs and I'm unsure about the quality. I also see Dollfie Dream examples for the M and L sizes, but I assume I need L. I've been doubting to buy one for a while now, I never did. They looked nice at the Mandarake store though. If I buy one, I will share the experience, but for now I'm not sure yet. toughstermcg Posted April 6, 2017 Mandarake's search function isn't working for me right now to link them, but I've bought two himezakura wigs so far with mixed results. The first one is this one, and the quality was....disappointing? It looked like a nice medium bold pink on the website, but was actually mix red/light pink in person, and the whole head showed the black rings of the elastic wigcap through her bangs. I was pretty upset. The second wig I took a chance on since I was buying something anyway was a blond and peach-pink mix wig this but L size, and that wig is perfectly good! Looks great, quality is fine, no problems with the elastic showing through at all. So I guess my consensus is you're taking a bit of a chance with himezakura. I wouldn't place an order only for that, but if you're buying other things from mando it probably won't hurt to throw the wig in on top since they're not too expensive. jadepixel Posted April 6, 2017 I'm a fan of Himekazura wigs ^_^ They vary in quality - I particularly don't like how they do pony-tail, twin-tail and up-do styles- but 'basic' styles tend to be fine. 'Airy Wave' is probably my favorite, I have that style in 4 different colors. When I'm ordering from Manda I'll often throw a wig or two into my order. Oni-Chan Posted April 6, 2017 Yuuko by Shoujo Magic, on Flickr Kagamine by Shoujo Magic, on Flickr The wine red and honey lemon ones i bought are fantastic. Super soft, lots of hair, i havent noticed any wig cap showing, the wine red one hasnt stained ((yet XD )) any of those who wear it (dark inside) Might be wary in the future though hearing that it can be hit n miss :/ I have more dollfies than my age in years *×*
amarilian Posted April 8, 2017 Here is my Kumiko in previous mentioned mandarake wig. DSCN0281 by Amarilian, on Flickr The tag that came with it said made in Korea. Other than it being a little on the heavy side, as it keeps trying to slide off it looks good. SakuraRose Posted April 10, 2017 I'm back with a quick review. The quality seems pretty nice; it's true to its colour and very soft. It's a bit on the thin side though. Maybe too small for bigger DD heads (pretty tight on Saber). I'm new so no links for me. I guess based on the comments their wigs are hit or miss.
missadventure364 Posted April 12, 2017 I have I believe only two Mandarake wigs, but I really like them. Quality is good, they don't tangle very easily and if they do it's easy to get tangles out. I have one that's rather difficult, but the other is great! I like the colors and tone variations on each, and I feel like they both have cuter styles overall for a better price than a lot of the wigs I see.

Sorry did you make sure that you bought the right size? I apologize in advance if you did, must've been a blunder on their end, they do have a size chart Head size range S : 6-7 inch MS: 7-7.5 inch M : 8-8.5 inch L : 9-9.5 inch LL : 10-11 inch usually at the end of the name of each wig e.g. Heat-resistant Doll wig [Himekazura] long straight 2 Bordeaux L. L size should suffice; I bought 2 wigs from them 9 months ago, I've changed said wigs from one head to another countless of times with minimum to no shedding at all
