Stellalina Posted April 9, 2017 Hello I was wondering what can someone do about a loose torso? Do you need to buy a new part for the internal skeleton to fix it? I know people say tape or something but that doesn't look really appealing is there anyway to actually fix it?
galatia9 Posted April 9, 2017 If it is loose between the two torso pieces, just try pushing the upper torso down onto the lower torso while the doll is standing. Stellalina Posted April 9, 2017 Someone is selling a doll for cheaper then retail like 150 bucks but because it has a loose torso? So I was wondering if it is fixeable or could it be something else? She told me I could buy extra internal skeleton parts from volks so does that mean it has to be replaced? I'm just wondering if it's better to go for that deal or buy it retail price from Volks new. Whether or not you can get internal skeleton parts will depend on if the body in question is a DD3 or older. If it's a DD3 then you can definitely buy new internal parts.... they'll just come with the vinyl parts covering them. If it's a DD2 body then there's no way to buy parts from Volks for them. They never sold internal frame parts even when the DD2 was current. So if the body is the older style then the only way to get replacement parts is to buy another body and take them from that. As for the loose torso, it may be easily fixable depending on what's wrong. I'd have to see it in order to make a proper assessment on that. $150 is a decent price for a DD2 or DDdy body *IF* the torso issue can be fixed. If not then the body is basically only good for parts. I've repaired quite a lot of internal frame parts using plastic weld epoxy so there's a good chance that the body in question is fixable. How easily done that will be depends on your ability to do repairs and figure out a solution for it. It may be as simple as adding super glue to the peg in the lower torso and sanding it down so that the upper torso parts fits snugly again. Or it could be the ring on the post is cracked and needs to be epoxied back tight. I hope that helps some! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. NeeP Posted June 15, 2017 I am currently searching for some information about a loose torso myself. I have a DDS Len, and I always have to be extra careful about how I pick him up, so that lower half of him doesn't fall off. Since he is currently my only full DD (as in not hybrid), I am not sure if this is a known issue or if there is something I can do so he isn't as modular when he shouldn't be. Any advice? Thanks in advance. Niki P. Vinyl brood at home: Len, Noah, Kenji, Rinto, Kiri, Eiji, Anais, Rin, ‘Red’, Lenka, Kai, Midoriya, Marc, ‘Sue’, Terra, Night, Frankie, Anna and Chitose. If a seller's description says "loose torso", there is a number of things it could be, anything from two parts not completely seated together to a broken part that needs replacing. Also "loose torso" is kind of a vague description of a problem. It sounds like a loose waist joint but I wouldn't want to make that assumption without more information. As Baldylox said, many things can be repaired. If this is your first DD, you might want to just get a new one (base body) so you don't start out trying to fix something you're unfamiliar with. You might end up spending the amount you saved on the used body buying fixes for it. Another consideration is does the body come with a head? That in and of itself would be another $45 (blank) to several hundreds of dollars for a character head or one already with a face-up.

He's held together by his skeleton, and the lower waist has a plastic peg, while the upper waist has a plastic tube the peg goes into. If the tube is cracked or broken, that may be why he isn't staying together. Have you looked inside him when he is apart? Good luck! I will have to take a look once I get home tonight. I think it will help now that I know what to look for. Niki P. To add to what galatia9 said, the peg for the lower waist does purposely have a split down the middle to relieve tension so it doesn't crack. Thought I should mention that as there have been others who didn't realize it was supposed to be like that and filled the split If your Len is falling apart at the waist though it may be that the waist peg isn't thick enough so there isn't enough friction to keep those parts together. I know others who have used a piece of tape and wrapped it around the waist peg to remedy the problem.

NeeP Posted June 18, 2017 For those who have responded, thanks. I have looked at my Len and there seems to be no cracks in him except for that split that is supposed to be in the peg. Everything else seems fine, except for how easy he seems to come apart. I suppose I will just be careful for now, until Volks decides to release the boy-type option part... Niki P.
