Christmas Time is Here!

Now that Thanksgiving is done and over, my husband & I have gone ahead and put up our Christmas tree One of those fake ones since my husband dislikes that you can't cut your own Christmas tree here in California (he's from Mississippi) so we went with an artificial one~ But once we put all the decorations up and everything it looked really nice

So who else has already put up their tree/decorations? And has anyone done their shopping already? I know I need to get on that >.>;;; List is small though so it should be no problem!

I haven't put up a Xmas tree for a long time. At least 20 odd years, maybe i'll get one for my girls.

P.S. No fairy on top of the tree? Put one of your girls on top

Yes you should get your girls a mini tree

 

I've always been a lover of stars for the top of the tree, but it was so hard to find a decent one! It took my husband & I FOREVER to find the one we have on it. All the other ones looked so tacky o_o A fairy would be cute, but would probably fall off because the star has a hard time staying up there. The top of the tree is a bit flimsy~

 

I could try to put my Azone Kirino in the tree for kicks though

I haven't put up my tree yet but I will by the weekend of Dec 10th. I have too much other stuff going on before then to have time. I have a 4 foot tree I setup on my kitchen table for my girls. It's a fake one with lights already on it from Walmart but it's way nicer than the other 2 foot tall one I had years back.

 

I plan to let my girls decorate it again this year just like they did last year. But this time I'll have TEN girls doing it instead of just four. Should be interesting.

I currently only have a little itty bitty tree (like 18" or something), which is still all done up in fall colored gold-and-amber lights. XD I'm actually not sure if I'll get to swapping them out for white or some other color, seeing as I'm busy for graduation, that said graduation is only ten days before Christmas, and that Christmas itself will be spent with family members who have far more impressive trees for photo ops.

 

Speaking of impressive trees, my grandmother got a new one at Hobby Lobby a week or two ago, and it's lovely. I'll definitely be taking my tripod and both girls to her house to get some photos of them by it.

 

For now, though, here's Pancake stuffed in it after assembly but before putting on any decorations. (Yes, any. Those red berries and the lights are all part of the tree as it comes out of the box!)

@Baldylox: Can't wait to see how your girls decorate the tree Billy! With 10 girls I imagine there will be many discussions about what sort of theme they want to go for hehe.

My boyfriend and I don't do much for Xmas. It is a beautiful time of the year, but because of the family aspect, I end up missing everyone back in Brazil way too much.

 

So we try to make it a normal day. We place a Christmas tree, but it is with lights only, and some decoration around the house, but that it is.

 

Your tree is very beautiful. Can you imagine that by this time next year Saber will be helping you guys with the decorations?

Aww I'm sorry that you won't be able to see your family since they are in Brazil Will you be visiting them some time next year? Either way I hope you get to see them when you can! You and your boyfriend have a very nice & normal Christmas day

 

Thanks so much! It turned out very nice this year, my husband & I did well hehe. And oh my gosh I really can't wait for that *o* Then I can put DD sized presents under the tree for her -giggles-

My mom is pretty much all the family I have. I am thankful for being able to visit her once a year, but in December it is too expensive to travel to Rio.

 

We keep it simple to avoid me feeling homesick, but I still like this time of the year anyway.

 

I still have to package Yukino's and Soubi's presents. I hope they will like them.

Well I'll be happy for you when you go to visit her again Yeah traveling in December is much too expensive for sure.

Awww...your tree is so lovely! I also havn't had a tree for 20+ years. I always go to my brothers house and enjoy his tree. Oddly enough I have a beautiful ornament collection.....hoping one day I will get to use them, LOL!!!! It is really hard to get into the Christmas spirit here in Miami when its 80 degrees on Christmas Day. I really miss living up North!!!!

@Carmen: I'm glad you'll be able to enjoy your brother's Christmas Tree! But you definitely need to put that ornament collection to good use with your own tree some time With it being that warm I'm sure it is pretty hard to get into a wintery spirit, but I'm sure you can do it!

We haven't put our tree up yet because we are afraid our youngest kitty will knock it over or eat it =3 Last year was her first Christmas since she was just a baby, and she climbed up inside it, chewed through the wiring in the lights, and broke a few ornaments. Bad kitty!

 

Now she's a year old and much bigger (and fatter lol), and if she tried to get up in the tree I know she would topple it. I think we're going to put it up in sections (ours is also fake) to see how she reacts.

 

I'm curious, who else is asking for dollfie items for Christmas? I had originally wanted a few non-dollfie things, but I'm really re-thinking my wish list lol!

Heehee, I have to get my fake tree and put it up on the kitchen table to keep my two cats out of it. It's only about 4 feet tall tho so it's not too space consuming. I'll prolly put it up next weekend.

 

As for asking for DD stuff for Christmas... I certainly did! I asked for my Mom and sister to each get me a kimono made by our mutual friend Anne. I still need a few for my newer girls. I also have them looking for some things in thrift stores for me. My Mom seems to find some of the coolest stuff in those places, especially furniture like wicker chairs and things.

 

So don't feel bad about asking for those type things!

Around this time of year if where all the christmas shopping events take place!

Me and my mom just went to one, and I got the most beautiful tea set!

I'm 90% sure that it is DD sized as well!

 

 

Also, my mom found these amazing chairs at Ross the other day!

We are going to be making cushions for them soon.

@Heidi: Ooo such a naughty little kitty you have there~! Reminds me of one of my mom's cats. A pure black cat named Lucky who loves to climb and jump on everything! Well when he was younger anyways, he's becoming an old grumpy man now At least she didn't get hurt doing all of that! Hopefully this year you can keep her out of all the sectioned parts of the tree. Oh what is her name and will you post a picture of her in the cat thread? And as for asking for DD sized gifts I pretty much fulfilled that for myself Though next year I might ask some friends for DD sized gifts! If I get any Christmas money that will definitely go to getting more things for Saber Nero~

 

@Baldylox: You & Heidi are making me jealous, wish I could have a cat in my apartment At least my family lives 2 blocks away so I can always get my cat fix when visiting them. Though my husband can't get his dog fix since my parents no longer have any dogs. Our next apartment we definitely need to find an apartment that allows both That is so cool that your mom & sister will be getting you DD sized gifts, very very nice!

I haven't put up my own Christmas tree for almost 10 years - When I was still living at home we just stopped because no one would ever take it down and my mother would get pissed off. For years I've been trying to convince hubby that it'd be ok, but our old cat was pretty evil and any tree wouldn't have survived.

 

I was pretty sure that my cats right now would be ok with a tree. I ordered an lovely 5-foot artificial tree before I left for Japan in October, so that it would arrive by the time I came home from my trip. The huge box stood in my hallway for for a week before hubby got annoyed with it and set the tree up i the middle of the living room! *hint hint*

 

So my tree has been decorated since November 1st -

 

I chose a 5' tree so that even if the cats wanted to climb it, there wouldn't be anywhere for them to go. In the end, neither cat shows any interest in my Christmas tree! Thank goodness!!

@Archangeli: Haha don't you love it when husbands take the hint? Glad that it got all set up! And even better that the cats have showed absolutely no interest in it, hmmm wonder if that means they don't have the holiday spirit in them yet? Hehe

Makes me think about all the "evil things" I can do next time I'll visit my mom and her three cats.

I would NOT want to be in the same house with that cat! He looks like he is about to KILL everything within a 50 yard radius. Funny tho, I get that same look from Rei on occasion.
