Nurse Hitomi's Monster Infirmary: Hitomi-sensei

I love this series to death and as soon as I saw the main character I KNEW I wanted to base a doll off of her (all of my girls so far are yokai-- this one could be a descendant of karakasa-obake). Her design and mannerisms are so adorable, and despite her one (very large) eye, Hitomi's expressions aren't limited and don't appear the slightest bit awkward. Shake O is quite the talented artist.

Translating that into DD form, though... that might be a different story.

Some reference images of the world's cutest cyclops:

(As you can see in the top panel in the last image, she wears glasses. There's a large portion of one chapter dedicated to her going glasses shopping. I can barely handle it.)

I have a Mirai head that I'm not using and frankly, I am not attached to the sculpt as it is. This would be my first major mod though, and I'd rather not screw it up.

What would be the best way to mod something like this? Are there artists that make custom size eyes?

I've seen someone on tumblr once mod an Obitsu into a cyclops, so it's definately do-able.

Here's a link to that, thought they don't really go into the specifics of modding her, more of just showing off how she looks.

I assume it would be similar to opening up a closed eye head, but you'd just cut out the middle in between the eyes instead of cutting out the eyes.

Perhaps you can contact the Obitsu mod-er and ask for more details on how to make a cyclops?

Also, I'm just curious, but is the Mirai head you're using a DD Mirai or a SmartDoll Mirai?

I have no tips, but she is going to be such an interesting cutie! Finding an eye for her will be challenging.

Daisy-Chan,

I think I might ask her-- unfortunately she sold the doll a while back, though, so I don't know if that'll limit how detailed she might be able to be with her answers.

It's a DD Mirai standard head-- I had been looking for and SWS body on Mandarake for another head I already had, and found a very cheaply priced Mirai that was in very good condition. I decided to keep the head to either sell or use later for another girl

I think I remember seeing that tumblr with the Obitsu cyclops before and I was curious about it too, because it's such a cool idea!

I don't have any tips either, sadly, but good luck all the same!! I'd love to see how it turns out ♪

Well I might be a little too late, but that was my cyclops!

Basically I sketched out a guideline and cut her with an exactoknife, nothing more detailed. I made the eye out of translucent sculpey sealed with Varathane. Some of the excess had to be trimmed away near her nose and on the inside of the forehead.

Honestly If I were to redo her, I would make the eye a little smaller and add milliput to really shape her eye and keep it from being so wide.

If you have any questions anytime just ask me! I'm happy to help!
