Lilliandil Posted May 2, 2017 Hi everyone, I tried to search for the answers first but it's kind of rough digging through everything so I'm sorry if these might be repeat questions from other threads. Question 1: I'm debating on getting the medium bust for my Mirai but I'm not really sure how I feel about the nipples and how it looks in t-shirts and other clothes (is it super noticeable?) ? Does anyone have pics to show and compared to the regular small bust she normally comes in? Is there any way to remove the look of the nipples temporarily that wouldn't harm the vinyl or would I have to just sand them down or something and make a permanent change to the bust? Question 2: Is it safe to have Mirai at the beach? Specifically, having her pose barefoot on sand (wet or dry) and/or possibly getting water on her feet or lower legs? I'm not planning to dunk her into the ocean or anything but I just want to be prepared just in case something were to happen - or even if I took some pics by a swimming pool and dipped her foot into the water. If it's not recommended then I just won't even take her to the beach with me or anywhere near a pool lol Thanks in advance~
medalis Posted May 3, 2017 Hallo! Answer 1; I have the Medium Tea bust for my Mirai (she's tea-skinned, by the by). In order to make her Spears of God or whatever clever names for nipples the community's come up with not so noticeable, I shaved them down a bit. Not much, mind you, so they still show, but she doesn't look permanently cold all the time. It took about five minutes per breast, and wasn't too difficult (granted, this was my second time doing it; I'd sanded down my Milk Mirai's large bust). You could get two busts if you want to swap them out, one for cold and the other for tight shirts, but I'd recommend just sanding the nipples down a little bit. You could also put some little pasties (ie, those tiny spot bandaids, the circle ones) over her nips, tho' they'd still show on tight tight clothing and might leave a little residue. Answer 2; I've taken my Mirai to the beach, and the only issue I had was her falling face-first into wet sand because of how unstable it was. That meant cleaning out her wig, clothing, and checking for scratches. After that, I set her to dry for a little bit in pieces, just in case something found it's way into her insides. The biggest issue you're gonna have with the beach is, as mentioned, sand and water getting inside Mirai. You don't want mold or mildew to form in her, so it's best to be careful. In addition, if you have a swimsuit on her and haven't done this yet (even if it's one of Mr. Choo's!), be sure to pre-wash it a time or two! You don't want dye to come out and stain her if it gets wet. sinclair Posted May 3, 2017 Q1) I'd recommend the two bust option as well. Or at least it is what I'd do if I wanted the options. Q2) I've seen lots of photos of girls in and around water, be it pools, beaches, rivers, and streams. Just being smart (har har) about it and you'll be fine. Take her apart when you are done and rinse her with clean water and let her air dry and she'll be fine.
K-2 Posted May 3, 2017 I would be a little concerned about some of the harsh chemicals (not to mention the other things) one can find in swimming pools, particularly public pools and how they might affect vinyl. So definitely, if you take your girl swimming, rinse her off with clear tap water before she dries. On the bust issue, when you buy a Smart Doll she will come with the small (nippleless) bust. You will have to buy the medium bust separately, there's no substitution option. So you would have one bust with and one without.
cirquemom Posted May 3, 2017 If you want a Mint In Box Perfect Doll, don't take her to the beach. If you don't mind a little wear and tear, then by all means take her. Danny designed the Smart Dolls to be taken outside and played with. The main thing, like other people have said, is you want her to completely try out if she gets wet. If she doesn't get wet- then when you get home i would gently wipe her off with a soft damp cloth to get the salt and sand off.
Lilliandil Posted May 4, 2017 Hey everyone! Thanks so much for the replies Answer 1; ...I shaved them down a bit. You don't want dye to come out and stain her if it gets wet. Response to Answer 1: that is what I'm hoping for I don't actually mind the nipple shape there but just not so "pokey" (if that makes any sense lol). Do you remember what grit sandpaper you used? Response to Answer 2: Good point with the mold/mildew and also the dye from clothing. I'll definitely be careful then - is it hard to remove her feet and/or disassemble the legs? I haven't tried it yet so I'm kind of nervous about doing that - maybe I'll just stick to dry sand then and make sure it doesn't go inside of Mirai. I got a worming from CJ team that salty water can to a serious damage to the faceup, so be careful. Thanks for this warning! I will definitely be careful not to get salt water on her face directly. Q1) I'd recommend the two bust option as well. Or at least it is what I'd do if I wanted the options. Take her apart when you are done and rinse her with clean water and let her air dry and she'll be fine. Response to Q1: Okay - I will definitely consider it I figured that if I did want the nipples on the bust, I could just buy another if I get one and sand down the nipples on it. At least it's nice to be able to purchase as many busts as I want Response to Q2: Duly noted I would be a little concerned about some of the harsh chemicals (not to mention the other things) one can find in swimming pools, particularly public pools and how they might affect vinyl. So definitely, if you take your girl swimming, rinse her off with clear tap water before she dries. On the bust issue, when you buy a Smart Doll she will come with the small (nippleless) bust. You will have to buy the medium bust separately, there's no substitution option. So you would have one bust with and one without. Response to swimming pool: Definitely a good point about the chemicals in swimming pools - I hadn't considered that Again, I wasn't looking to dunk Mirai in there or anything - maybe just dip her foot in or ankles but now I won't be doing that anymore lol. I definitely don't want mold or mildew to build up inside of her by accident Response to bust: I probably should have specified that I already own Mirai with her default small bust I was just interested in buying the medium bust but I'm not really a fan of the "pokey" nipples (as I stated above in another response, I don't mind the nipple shape on there - I just don't want her looking like she's cold all the time lol). But since it looks like sanding down the nipples works, I think I will go for buying a medium bust the next time I put in an order I was just hoping to find more photos with a side-by-side comparison with the default small bust and the medium bust - esp. when it comes to shirts in particular because in some photos it seems like the nipples are noticeable and in others are not - but that could be because of a variety of factors If you want a Mint In Box Perfect Doll, don't take her to the beach. If you don't mind a little wear and tear, then by all means take her. Danny designed the Smart Dolls to be taken outside and played with. The main thing, like other people have said, is you want her to completely try out if she gets wet.
