The inclusion of the f3 frame no doubt is contributing to the price, plus those detailed pods.

Unfortunately thanks to f3 this hobby is gonna get even more expensive. ;-;

2B is 88000, 9S is 78000 - both before tax. (Japan tax is 8%, so they're more like 2B 95040, 9S 84240.

 

I would welcome any and all photos, it eases the pain of the wait lol. Even if they look exactly the same as ones I've seen already I will still stare at them intently. hey guys only 374 more days until October 2019!

General question to everyone else though, never done a preorder before so do US residents have to do the US preorder?(or are they the same thing and I'm just forgetting?) Or can I use international like I normally would? Sorry for noobish/possibly obvious questions.

US residents were able to order from both Volks USA, and Volks international, in the last two pre-orders for sure. Pretty sure the same was true with Macross and Snow Miku too. Don’t know about farther back.

Yes. Shipping is never included with the listed prices. With how much stuff they have if you buy both I could easily see the shipping costing well over $100 from JP, and still pretty darn expensive in the USA too.

Good to know! That's what I figured about shipping. I hope the pods won't be super heavy then. I think the last fullset I ordered(Rin) was something like 6000 yen shipping to me, so I'm hoping for around that again if I'm lucky lol. Will have to see what Volks sets their prices at in USD before final decision though, but it seems like International probably wins again in that regard. At least at current conversions. Who knows in a year. I'm not sweating it too much for another month when I have more info though.

Even then I feel like I'd then have to backtrack at some point and get their defaults. I just don't wanna have to deal with the aftermarket prices for them. I'm exactly the same Gunter. If I get both thats 100% it for all of next year - not only no other DDs, but no dolls from any other companies too, which I could potentially regret. Thats the stressful part of this hobby, you never know what's around the corner (and then there are companies like Luts who at this point I just think spy on me and decide to release dolls I want exclusively when I cant afford them...)

At this point I'm thinking its best to be safe and only get 9S like I originally intended and just enjoy everyones 2B photos, and maybe try to get her aftermarket -after- I've seen most of 2019's other releases. But it's still a really tough decision, and part of me feels really cruel to split 2B and 9S up.

 

At least theres over 2 more months to think about it.

If the two down payments with whatever you already got in 2018 doesn't exceed your budget for this year, and that amount off the total for the two dolls makes a total doesn't exceed the budget for 2019 then you can get them and still be within your rules.

 

If you want to do splits there's probably someone willing to do that as well; a few have indicated such in this thread.

This is something I'm considering. I could totally afford 9S who out of the two I like way more (character-wise). I do like both of their characters but I've been dying for a DD boy that I wanted. Plus 9S is my cutie. >3< The other alternative is split 2B and get a fullset 9S.

 

But yeah it is literally my whole budget including all dolls. Honestly I usually use that budget for figures too, so it'd mean literally zero things other then those two.

 

Also the company that is sneaking stuff by me lately is Soom. They keep releasing romantic ver. of heads I already like, making it terribly hard to say no. I can already tell I'mma waffle about this decision the whole time. XD

I think you can see the details on the sword better here than in most pics and also the angle on both faces shows more about the sculpting of the lips. I hadn't noticed from the other pics how they have the dimple between the nose and lips--I'm sure there's a name for that but I don't know what it is.

I think that and the Yen exchange rate precipitated the price increase. Though, that said KOS-MOS was like 120k yen iirc. I wonder if the stands the pods are on (or a stand adaptor) will be included. It looks like they must have a hole that the stand plugs into. I wonder if they're light enough to use a clear action figure stand arm. So have that clipped to the doll and the pod on the peg that would be plugged into the base.

For some reason I was expecting a little more, WOW! Not sure why she has skin tone stocking on, maybe stain prevention? Don't really like the mouth from the front, but from the side it looks good. Looking forward to see what her face looks like without the mask.

Thinking about the price, old blue was 95k tax free at release (the same as Kosmos was at release), New blue is 109k tax free, but with new blue you get the new body (price hike from DD2 to DD3 was around 10k yen between the nude base bodies, and now we're skipping two generations), you get a mantle, and you get a dinky crown... so in a weird sense, New blue is in a way cheaper than the original was.

I believe you're only able to pay when they are about to be released.

I believe you're only able to pay when they are about to be released.

Shailara is correct. You can only pay off the rest of the balance once the dolls are ready to ship.

One must never forget about the glorious 2B booty Yeah the two of them look really great. It's a shame they didn't have another set of them without the masks on. Hopefully once the pre-order opens up they'll have some really nice pictures of them unmasked for all to enjoy. 2B will be mine

Her boobs are definitely smaller in game, but I appreciate Volks not making them super huge, haha. Anyways, that sword looks really good! And so do the pods. I'm very excited for more official pics.
