I saw people mentioning the wrist joint would be black to match her hands, but these most recent photos I only see normal wrist joints. Did I miss something, because it does not look like extra wrist joints are needed.

In the past when dolls have shipped with gauntlets that required a black wrist joint, the black wrist joint has shipped as an extra part. This is likely to be what happens here, but we won't know for sure until we see photos of what she comes with. (Assuming that they do accessory photos this time.)

I'm wanting her outfit and sword more and more. They really need to post more photos of her face sans mask. My wife actually kinda liked the one photo there is. So if they show more of her, and I get a job before the order period is up, I might end up getting her. But we shall see as there are a lot of other things I need and more want to spend money on.

These new photos look great Like everyone else I was also hoping there would be models without the masks on. I'm already sold on her look from the one photo, but I want more to stare at while I wait for Oct 20th to arrive hehe.

... k, I think understand now why in most promos they keep the masks on - it really highlights the excellent nose sculpt on that head!!

 

Also def looks like her glove hands won't need a separate wrist joint in black. Her gloves appear to not go far enough

Hmm... I can see her two nostrils. She's suppose to be a DD sculpt. It seems is volks leaning more toward the SD face sculpt instead here. I might have to reconsider this purchase.

The face sculpt is very SD-like, and indeed has nostrils. Rise Kujikawa has nostrils too as was pointed out to me earlier in the thread but as far as I've found is the only other DD that does.

Yea. . . there was a whole discussion about the face mold starting on page 48 if you feel like reading it. It gets a little wordy in some areas, but you know, that happens.

Not wanting to start it again, just letting you know.

What are the chances she'll have Kaine's "outfit" as a secondary for preorder with her.

I wish she had a mature looking SD face. The pic from the brochure scan looks so child-like SD9/10 style.

As much as I love that outfit it’s pretty skimpy for Volks. I feel they may shy away from it.

 

The preorder forms distributed in store also feature the dolls only. So an extra outfit preorder seems unlikely.

I thought the same thing about the wrists. Perhaps they hadn’t made the parts in time for the display dolls.

 

For the Kaine outfit... maybe later, like Miku outfits. But with so little cloth, should be an easy sew.

The site is up, and the product pages are up (as of now in Japanese only). No new photos, unfortunately. However, seeing the pamphlet photos in better quality really shows how anime-ish the faceups are. So they're anime-esque faceups on resin-esque sculpts. I really like the contrast personally.

 

I'm really hoping they show them maskless from more angles though...whether on the DD blog or at one of the exhibitions. It's driving me nuts having multiple angles for the masked faces and only one for masked.

Deposit is 10,800 yen for each doll which I believe is the same as it was for Jeanne and Saber.

I agree on the eyes; I'd probably like SDs more if their eyes were like these.

 

What still worries me most about the mask is where it crosses 2B's nose. Even with the thickness the black on the edge is going to be very close to the skin there, and I know from reading various accounts of clothes staining that points where there is more pressure between the material and the vinyl are more likely to eventually stain even through a lining or bodysuit, so I can easily see her ending up with a line on the bridge of her nose.

 

I think 9S is a little safer with the simpler mask and that it goes completely over the nose and overall doesn't really look as tight because of that.

 

Hopefully we're all wrong and they won't get stained at all. Since Volks went to the trouble of including bodysuits with them and 2B at least is being shown with it, it would seem they are working hard to avoid staining. (Maybe 9S is wearing his too and it's just made where no part of it shows.)

In all honesty I'd probably only have it on for photos most of the time. It seems a shame to cover up such pretty eyes. The collar does concern me too. A neck staining isn't as catastrophic as a face, though.

 

Gotta make sure I fix the problem with my 'verified by visa' nonsense that Volks didn't like during the After Event before the 20th. After that, I guess I'll make some personal ambitious project to achieve before next October... time always goes faster when I have a deadline. Its been my secret technique for a while now. Although I've never done it for an entire year...

I like the fact the resin eyes (in both dolls) are made from special materials which resist yellowing.

It'd be cool if Volks started having resin animetic eyes, so there was a source for those easier to obtain for people who don't live in Asia and can't go to those doll events to buy things like Hisyo-Hisyo.

They look both pretty cool! So bad we finally got only one photo and angle of 2B without her mask. I'm looking forward to see owners' photos next year! ^^

Every time I see 9S I want to cry. God I haven't been this happy within any of my hobbies for so many years, I kind of feel giddy like a child again. This is great. The wait is gonna kill me though
