I want 2B's outfit, swords, and pod, but no moneys for doll stuff anymore.

Hmmm, well, seeing the two without the blindfolds my initial impression of them both still stands.

I really, really LOVE their rendition of 9S but 2B... not so much. I'm 80% sure I'm getting 9S but as for 2B I might have to settle for Flare's figurine instead. I guess if 2B had her visor on all the time it might not bother me as much but like I said before, something about her eyes make her look too innocent / young to be the 2bae i know and love. I agree with everyone above that her overall set is very impressive though. Still kind of tempted because I prefer to have them together as a set... Decisions, decisions.

 

It could be the size of her eyes that are making her look more innocent? Perhaps switching the eyes to a pair with smaller irises would help? /enable

 

It may the combination of faceup, eye size and eye shape. I wish I could do a mockup to see what she'd look like with a different faceup. For me, I'd be able to really tell if I had the sculpt on hand.. ! *enable was super effective!*

 

But yeh, if needed to be I might be wanting to take everything but the head. 9S without 2B is like peanut butter without the jelly.

All those maskless pics bring home just how adorable 2B is. I understand that might be a problem for people who have played the game, but luckily I have the disadvantage of having never played it.

I'm very much conflicted about what I want to do. With Volks doing the Holiday Lottery I feel like I must try for Suigintou before I dare pre-order 9S (I'll get 2B later on the aftermarket as I just want her head). But Gin costing so much means I may skip it, which then maybe I'll order 9S (and possibly 2B with the plan to offer up all parts)... Ah I don't know what to do! I could also just wait till later cause people gonna drop those pre-orders. Happens every time. Though if I SOMEHOW were to win Gin then I would push back even getting 9S. She'd be it for me dollwise for 2019.

 

I'll just be waiting till the last minute to make up my mind. XD

Not sure how to feel about her face after seeing more pictures. I don't know how to put it ... but she has a more childish face than the in-game model.

 

I got a similar feeling. In the first photo of her face revealed she looked more mature and slightly serious. These photos from Twitter users vary wildly with her looking very young, innocent and cute. I don't know if it's the phone cameras doing it? In game she almost glares with frowny eyebrows.

 

I still like the face as a doll sculpt though , but not getting a 2B vibe. Maybe it's different in person. Masked she's a lovely 2B though and I'll get her (and hopefully 9S too) eitherway.

 

Yeah, I think it might be the quality of the pictures that are making her look weird to me. At least 9S looks younger in-game so the face sculpt works well. I'm most likely going to get 9S, even though I don't want to miss out on 2B, there's just a lot about the doll that is bothering me.

At least you know that there will be a ton that hit the market next year and people dropping preorders. You'll definitely have a good chance at them later!

The more I see of 9S the more I wish he was coming home sooner I've already bought him a pair of glasses...way ahead of time. The more I see pictures on IG, the more I like him.

 

(And the more it bugs me that I can't change his wig like...right now lol. It ranges from "too long" to "too fluffy" or both for me depending on the store the picture is from lol. I think he's gonna look great in the one I already have picked out. Hopefully.)

You can always sell the head + eyes, and then add your own instead!

Pretty sure Raine has a split going and that the pod was still available in that one. If you don't like the face, then it's your doll, you can get another head and make your own one of a kind 2B!

I've been LOSING MY FREAKING MIND (that's an understatement) since these have been announced and I've been strategically planning my finances around two pieces of plastic....typical me.... I figure when they ship will be around my graduation date for my double major undergrad degree so it sounds like a graduation gift from me to me (love me) and something I can take to graduate school since they don't need customizing....I've never had a "full set" before even with my resin dolls so that's exciting....

 

I love both of them so much but it's $1680...I think it was smart of Volks to do unlimited order numbers because of scalping etc... part of me is like "just get one and then the other one later on mandarake for cheaper!!!" and the other part is like "no they're a couple they'll be lonely if not together... also you're getting two degrees that's two dolls!"

Anyone else going to the Volks USA booth at Anime NYC this weekend? Their emails said the Nier dolls will be on display, I'll take some pictures if I can.

I'm in Canada so I'd prefer to preorder via Volks' international shop rather than the US one (rip Canadian Dollar), but I'm stuck on the field in the registration form where I have to put a phonetic in half-width Kanji. Do all international orders have to go through Volks USA?

No, you can buy stuff, pre-order, and enter lotteries through Volks Webstore Japan. It's been years since I registered, but I seem to recall doing it with an English language form.

 

Not sure how you are going about it, but you can go to the English language version of the international site, then click the yellow Volks Website Store button and choose Registration at the top then New Registration. You should be able to register on an English form there.

Thank you! I was totally missing the part where I could switch languages. I had Google Translate doing the hard work for me LOL. Next fall can't come soon enough now.

Anime NYC update: displays of Miku, Luka, and the Nier dolls are up at the booth, masks on. Staff says they're unlikely to remove the masks, the staff aren't allowed to touch the Nier dolls at all and even displaying them like this was a special permission case (obvs). Still very cool to see them, I like 2B a lot but I really wish I could see 9S's face in person

 

(Didn't take pics, but a lot of the standard anime event items were available -- all Vocaloid dolls, all Senbonzakura outfits, this year's Miku & twins happi coats, KOS-MOS & MOMO, Akira 2nd, etc. Was a little surprised to see that new im@s Nanao doll available)
