Is the difference still the same or has the pink faded?

I have a new purchased 03 head sw in the original released miku body and have a little diference, the body its a little darker than the head.

I hadn't noticed any lightening of the body.  I double checked last night.  It was just a quick look comparing the hands to the face, so hardly exhaustive.  I didn't notice any fading.  It looks about the same tone difference.

I think we probably will get the payment email from Volks inter. Within a month or two, I wish I knew how much actually i will have to pay more.. Never did a preorder before.. I preordered both 2b and 9s.

Maybe about mid-September you should get a notice for payment, but they will probably announce the payment / shipping schedule a few weeks ahead. Just check the forum and someone will undoubtedly post it as soon as the news breaks. 

When the pre-orders were announced a few people flipped out and stormed off over having to wait another year. For everyone who persevered, congratulations you're in the home stretch.

Hopefully there won't be any production delays, but do keep in mind that last year Jeanne ended up shipping later than expected, so it can happen.

Has anyone has their preorder details updated on the website? I still can't see any record of my order or prepayment 😕

Do we really think payments will be requested in September? The Nier dolls products pages list there ship-date as winter. . . (which technically does not start until December...) so I was assuming Q4 which starts in October.  I thought payments were requested close to, if not right before, the date the dolls were shipped out?

If you mean Volks USA, generally they will require full payment be made around the time payment opens for Volks Japan. For Japan the Nier dolls are scheduled to ship in the Fall. 

What we think happens is they pay Japan for all the pre-order dolls up front, and Japan ships the dolls to them (likely) by container ship, then they ship to you. They’ve never discussed the process, so that’s a guess, but it doesn’t take 6 - 8 weeks to fly from Japan to America, and you can’t drive it, so that leaves container ship. 

Consequently, everyone buying through Volks USA has to pay before shipment, and the payment window tends to be a bit shorter.

The payment windows vary a bit from project to project. The windows for Saber and Jeanne in 2018 were longer than the iM@S dolls in 2017, probably due to the high cost of the dolls. 

You will get an email explaining the steps & dates ahead of time, but I would suggest putting your finances in order for this before then. You won’t know the window until they announce it.

It was somewhere on Volks USA's old extinct blog that stated they do receive their larger restock shipments by container ship. I would imagine large preorder shipments would arrive that way as well.

Yeah, they would have to pass EMS costs to the customer, and that just wouldn’t make sense. 

The money for my dolls is ready and waiting for my Volks notice, and I have seen it mentioned that Volks USA gets most (if not all) of their items via ship, but I had preordered Snow Miku through them and once I completed the payment I thought I did not have long to wait until she showed up. I guess it does not matter either way, I was just bracing myself not to see them until Dec or January and was wondering if I could be more optimistic.

I wouldn't be shocked if they request payment toward the end of September (VolksUSA) or toward the start of October. Last year I preordered Saber via USA and the payment request was sent at the start of October. You usually do get a few weeks to send payment after the initial request.
If everything goes to plan and there's no delays like there were with Jeanne expect to see them at the end of December. I'm basing it off the fact that you're in FL and my Saber arrived to me (in FL as well) on what would've been the 26th of December if the postal worker had knocked on the door. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you'll be luckier than I was and that they will make their appearance at your home sooner rather than later.

All this talk about the release now has me excited. A part of me is really hoping Volks suddenly drops the dolls in Japan for September to avoid the tax hike in October. Would save them 2% on each doll sold here.

In the past how much notice did they give before the release window in Japan? I paid in full to pickup in store so hoping I can get my 2B relatively early in the release.

For Anastasia the payment email came Oct 4th, the payment was due no later than Nov 13th, and shipments started Oct 14th.

For Altria the payment email came Sept 13th, the payment was due by December 28th, and the shipments started Oct 13th.

Thanks, so there’s still some hope for a pre tax hike release then. Anastasia had quite a short window before they started shipping.

I ordered Yayoi through Volks USA. Here is their schedule for that pre-order.

Payment request arrived on Oct 4th, payment was due no later than Oct 16th 9 AM, and shipment was expected to be late December. The dolls arrived in the US Dec 6th, and she arrived at my door Dec 18th, so a bit ahead of schedule. 

There is always hope they could be early, but they could be late too, it's kind of the name of the game with handmade goods.

Normally I would never hope for a release at the start of a window, but this year is rather unique because of the tax increase. If Volks can manage to get them out the door before October then they make an extra 2% on every doll sold within Japan. For items of this value, that is a fairly decent amount. If they wait and ship them out in October or November then they lose that additional cash to tax or customers would have to pay more than expected.

I checked and only paid 8% on my preorder. But perhaps if someone pays upfront the old tax amount applies regardless of release date and they would then charge 10% to anyone paying the remainder later (assuming post October 1st release). I feel that would leave a bad taste in the mouth for those who chose not to pay upfront or did not have the option though.

I don't remember seeing any warnings regarding the tax change on the forms etc when buying but I didn't really think to look for it either, I didn't know the date of the change back then.

Yeaaaah, I wouldn't be TOO upset at 10% because I was trying to dodge CA's 9%(or is it 9.5% these days? I don't even know, I just accept it) rate anyway, but I don't like that we potentially weren't warned of the extra charge in advance if it ends up that way. I do still sort of hope for October just because I planned more around that...

Ive been saving up for my preorders. I'm pretty excited about these two dolls. I'm trying to estimate how much I will have to pay when the time comes.. Volks inter. will charge tax which is going to be 8-10% depends on when we get the payment email.. and shipping to US, about 6,000 yen.. Is there anything else they will charge us more?? I have never preorder from volks before.. 

This is what I think it is going to be

2b: 88000+8800(10%tax)+6000(est.shipping)= 102800... minus the deposit = 92000 yen

9s: 78000+7800(10%tax)+6000(est.shipping)=91800... minus the deposit = 81000

2b+9s: 173000 yen

We actually don't know... the first day of fall in Japan is September 23rd and I hope they will send out the payment before October because taxes will change from 8% to 10%... and from last year preorder and a year before, I think they got the email by the end of September or somewhere in October..

Theres a lot of talk of the tax change but...do items that go up for preorder -before- a tax change actually count for that? I've been wondering that a while now. I would have thought that as long as the preorder started before the tax changed then the full price would be what it would have been with the previous tax. But I'm no economist and barely understand tax matters in my own country.

gotta admit I'm gonna be annoyed if I have to pay even more for him than what was advertised. Our plumetting exchange rate has already increased his price by a few hundred or so since I preordered him as it is, and I'm not looking forward to the fact that I'm probably going to have to pay some kind of ludicrous customs fee on top of that purely because the exchange rate made his cost go over the limit.

I purchase preorders on a regular basis and most stores state that the price will change to 10% on release even if shown as 8% now or they show with 10% tax already in the price. This started around April this year I think. Sword and Shield is a prime example of it occurring but how each store handles the situation is totally different. 

If Volks does release after October 1st it will be interesting to see if they lump the difference or expect customers to. I somehow feel they would lump it, to avoid backlash, which gives them a very real monetary reason to release them before October. Or maybe they have some exception as orders opened so long ago.

Maybe I'm just being too hopeful. Now that we are so close to release the wait is truly painful so I just want them out ASAP.
