About D'Coords?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the approximate prices of D'Coord models? I'm looking at asking a friend to get one for me on her trip to Japan soon, but I'm not sure how much I should give her.

Is it the same as the standard models plus clothing or is it different?

I'm looking at maybe getting a DDH-10 on a MDD body, if that helps.

Also, does anyone have pictures of all of the painted heads available for D'coords? I can only find some of them on the official website.

Thanks in advance!

I can't help with prices, but I've saved some photos from auctions of D'Coord models on my pinterest board:

I've seen some DDH-03 D'Coord models that are different from the standard model version, but some dolls appear to be the same faceup as standards. Unfortunately I haven't seen a good pic of DDH-10 yet, though. Good luck on your quest!

The D'Coords that are available will be whatever DollPoint has in stock, if anything, on the day your friend goes. They're pre-coordinated dolls, usually 5 or so released at a time, and will be whatever the staff felt like putting together. That means it can be hard to plan for in advance if you only want a specific thing. Also, you should prepare yourself for there to be nothing available, just in case, because D'Coords are frequently out of stock. Good for Volks, but hard for people sending friends to shop.

They cost about the same as a standard plus an outfit, at retail price anyway. Estimate 55K yen for a DD3.

One useful way to approach it, if you're good enough friends, could be to have your friend e-mail you a menu and have you tell them what to buy from what's available, then pay your friend back upon delivery of doll. That way you needn't guess how much money to hand over in advance.

My Bri was about 56000 with tax. (I'll check the exact amount when I get home cos it's on her certificate. EDIT=56600, so close!) I think it's a pretty good deal considering she comes with wig, eyes, outfit and shoes. (Plus her outfit was a pretty elaborate one at that, the Magical Happy set. Even though I changed all of what she came with I like the individual parts enough to keep them - that purple wig looks adorable on Rin) A much better deal than the standard models IMO (and the faceups a lot nicer too). The MDDs are slightly less of course, but I'm not sure of the exact price.

But yeah you can't really go with a particular one in mind for the most part. I have Bri cos my friend checked Dollpoint regularly to be able to snag a tan girl as soon as one appeared.

If your friend is going to Japan before May 27th, they will have to go to the Yokohama store to get a D'Coord. Furthermore you'd have to leave it to their judgment because photos aren't allowed in the store, so you couldn't snap a pic to ask someone if they want that one. If you were online at the same time your friend could send you a message with a description/sculpt of the doll I guess. (Although if it's only a DD10 you're after that simplifies things, although like I've said, you can't just go there and expect one to be there. I know they've had DD10 MMDs there, but they never have in all the times I've been)

Thank you for the replies! The time frame is less of an issue since my friend will be staying for several months with family there, so hopefully something will pop up in the time she's there. I guess it would be a better idea to pay her after, since she knows I'm good for it. My friend's got good taste and even if I'm not perfectly happy with the stuff the doll comes with I can always buy another wig or outfit later on anyway, so as long as I get a nice head and a body I'll be happy!

Thank you very much!

They never post each months D'Coord lineup anywhere online (unless it's the lineup for the lottery ones at Dolpa) but they do post the schedule which your friend can refer to.

http://www.volks.co.jp/radikan/dollpoint/ the dates in that yellow box with brown header are when the Akihabara D'Coords will change. (None for May because of the store renovation, and no dates after June yet).

http://www.volks.co.jp/jp/shop/yokohama_nest/#D_COORD And the dates here are for the Yokohama showroom.

In theory your friend could check the stores on those days to see if a DD10 is among that months lineup, and I hope that works. In practice, the tan D'Coords are never added on those dates and instead at random times when you aren't looking, meaning you have no idea when and rendering getting one a complete game of chance/shiny Pokémon hunting. But hopefully that's only the tan girls and the DD10s can be hunted easier by just visiting on those dates.

As for makeup, I know they updated it for several of the heads recently. You can see this updated makeup on the 6, 4 and 1 available for Kyoto Dolpa. http://www.volks.co.jp/htd_kyoto14/dcoord/

As for DD10, her faceup would be the same faceup on the DD10s that sometimes model clothes in Volks News... or like the two that were at Dolpa37: http://www.volks.co.jp/dolpa37/dcoord/ (I am not sure if that's also a new faceup for ddh8 there? It's admittedly a head I don't pay much attention to since I'm really not a fan)

Thank you! I really like the DDH-10s they had on display. Hopefully something comes up while my friend is in Japan. If anything, I can always commission a custom if I can't get the D'Coord version.
