Heya!

Hello, I'm Yotty. Nice to meet you all! Please refer to me as they/them, if possible. I'm a newcomer to anything related to DD/other vinyl/ABS dolls... sorta. I own Kikipops and Pullips, but I primarily started with the resin BJD hobby. I never really seen DDs in real life until I saw a few at the few meetups I been to, and I can understand why people like them so much!

 

To the point I kinda want one, but since I am ridiculously new, I know very little. Luckily, my new friends I made at the doll meet are very nice and directed me here. I might invest in a MDD (leaning towards an 01 sculpt, but I am open to a 10), or maybe even that new DDp that's coming out. Not sure.

 

Since I'm a recently graduated art student, I am a little broke and lost, but I'm working my way to stability to invest in one. I do like drawing, but that is my occupation so it's a "doi" moment. Recently, I gotten into customizing dolls, which is why I got into the hobby when I could. I like all forms of art, and if I can dabble, I will try! I'm still pretty new to dolls in general, but the collection had grown immensely. Not surprising when I was already a plush and figure fanatic. That's also why I'm open to owning a DD of some sort-- it seems fun to customize one!

Welcome to the forums! I know how it is when you're low on funds lol. You'll get there eventually! I love the customization part of dolls too! Especially faceups.

I'm excited to see you were able to get a head-- what sculpt is she? Are you going to do her faceup? I'd love to see your progress as you go along, I really enjoy seeing how people's different art styles translate into their doll's faces

 

A lot of us become jacks-of-all trades in this hobby, partly because it can be really satisfying to hand make something for your dolls, and partly because it can help save a little money

Thank you buncho! She is the DDH-01 sculpt. I will be doing her faceup. I'd be happy to show progress! I been trying to look for more progress videos for dollfie faceups but alas, those are very few. >< I love customizing!
