Galvatim Posted May 20, 2017 I've had this happen twice now, with a body that I've had for a few years now, and also with a foot that broke as soon as I opened the box, so I'm understandably concerned that this is an ongoing issue, like the shoulder and thigh joint breakage used to be. Both of the feet that broke are rights. I'll be emailing Volks, but I wanted to see if anyone else has been having this issue. The foot can pop back on the ankle relatively well, but it is loose enough to be a problem if you're out and about with your DDS. Gluing is possible, but most likely would result in the loss of the articulation point.
sinclair Posted May 20, 2017 I haven't been exactly gentle on my Yaya's feet, and she hasn't had a broken one yet. If more don't pop up, then perhaps you are just 'lucky.' That or your girl is trying to tell you she wants to be a peg leg pirate!
Jezrah Posted May 20, 2017 I didn't have it happen to me personally but I did see it on a friend's DDS. I think it was the left foot but it was a DDS.
elianti Posted May 20, 2017 Yes, this has happened to me--on every single DDS foot I have had actually. I bought two pairs of DDS feet from Volks and broke the ankle of one foot seconds after opening the box, and the most of the others broke easily with normal use of the ankle joint. I didn't email them about it(though I should've..) because I could still fix and use it. As you mention, gluing it back together(I used abs glue) would result with the loss of the swivel rotation. I was really wondering if this was a problem other people had. I'm sort of relieved that I'm not the only one.. I was seriously dumbstruck when that first ankle broke so instantly. Maybe since the ankles on DDS feet are more exposed it means it's easier to snap the ankles??? idk
