Heidi Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Hello everyone! Morgan wanted to show off the new clothes I made for her. ^_^ I am having so much fun learning to sew for dollfie and making accessories. It’s so relaxing and I get to customize everything for my girl, plus I know everything is made with care and won’t stain her. This is the second outfit I made for her, and I’m very proud of it! Not only did I make it all from scratch, I also made the patterns myself, so I can sew lots more pretty things in the future! It took me a few tries and a lot of muslin but I think I’ve finally got it just right. The outfit consists of four pieces, so she can wear it many different ways and mix and match with other clothes! The main piece I love the most is the strapless cherry print sundress. It can be worn all by itself for casual cherry picking in the orchards. It also has a little red belt to dress it up for a busy day with friends! For a more playful look it can be worn over a soft cotton lime green T-shirt. The finishing touch to the whole set is a sparkly cherry necklace. I finished the inside seams of everything with my serger, and lined the top of the dress with white fabric to help protect against staining. The outfit will even fit a smaller M bust (I have two sizes for her as she came with the shapely L but it was a bit much for me lol). I really like how it all turned out, and I’m already sewing up more dresses! If I were to make more of them and offer some up for sale, do you think some people might have any interest in buying them? Morgan really wants a pretty display case and a nice stand from Cool Cat for Christmas lol. Innocentsake Posted December 1, 2011 That is a great dress and I love how you can also put a shirt underneath to enhance the cuteness! I would definitely buy one of those dresses and I'm sure others would too
baldylox Posted December 1, 2011 Nice job Heidi! That picture of Morgan with the green tshirt on is so cool, the shirt almost matches her eyes perfectly! She looks really good in this setup and I think it's a well done set. It seems you and Maridah find it easy to create your girls clothing since you both cosplay. I'm sure that background has to help a bit. Put me down as a potential buyer as well, I like this design. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. Heidi Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks so much everyone! Yes the cosplay background does help, it's taught me a LOT about being a seamstress, making patterns, jewelry, accessories etc. Honestly though I have more fun sewing for Morgan! If I get ambitious enough I'd like to make her little cosplay outfits to match some of mine. It's a fun challenge too to learn how make patterns for Dollfie, and finding tiny buttons/bows/trims for her clothes. ^_^ Handmade Clothing for Dollfie Dreams

That would really look great, especially if yall went to a convention. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. Billy To be honest I REALLY want to make her a little Blair Witch cosplay from Soul Eater! Blair's one of my favorite characters (hence my userpic lol) plus it would be cute for her to have for Halloween. The tiny hat might be tricky though. DefectiveAngel Posted December 1, 2011 Such a super cute dress! I love the cherry pattern and the added touch of the cherry necklace. Wonderful job with this, it is such a cute design and I like how the look of the dress can be changed with the shirt.

I love fabric shopping, and there are always such cute dollfie scale prints in the quilters section. When I saw the cherry fabric i fell in love with it. I'd like to get one with strawberries and maybe one with little apples too to make something similar! Handmade Clothing for Dollfie Dreams

I think if you were able to get a strawberry print it would make a fantastic pattern for a dress. Also I would like to see how an apple print would turn out, I think it would be a very cute idea. Blair's one of my favorite characters (hence my userpic lol) plus it would be cute for her to have for Halloween. The tiny hat might be tricky though. I checked your site out with some of the cosplay you've done and WOW, some great stuff there! The Blair setup was especially nice. Seeing both of you dressed up would certainly be fun. Ask around here for advice on the hat, I know Poofiemus has made a hat before for her girl and some others may have too. JoltFiend Posted December 4, 2011 That dress looks really good on her I think you could add me to the list of potential customers if you were to start making outfits for sale
Heidi Posted December 4, 2011 Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I've been tweaking the pattern a little bit more and have already sewn a few more things. In another week or so I should have some things up in my Etsy store. Handmade Clothing for Dollfie Dreams
jadepixel Posted December 4, 2011 That's really cute! Sounds like you won't have any trouble selling them, DD fans are pretty rabid for well-fitted and stain-free clothing I got a tip from somebody here (poofiemouse maybe?) that you can use paper towels to make muslins for dolls. Works great and requires fewer trips to the fabric store. jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
