Reshaping eye mods?

I want to make the eyes on a ddh03 slightly smaller and rounder, but I'm curious if that can be done? I've thought about experimenting, but I'm curious to see if anyone was else has tried this before.

The "smaller" is really the tricky part; for that it would probably be best to start with a close-eyed head, and custom-cut the eye holes. In this case, you'd start with a small hole, then gradually shave and finally sand down the eye shape until you got what you wanted.

 

If you have an open-eyed head on hand you were wanting to use, you're looking at a MUCH more involved process, with sculpting in the new eye shape with epoxy, and most likely color-matching the mods with paint.

Ah okay, I actually haven't bought the head yet, but I did do some photoshop work to see what it could possible look like...(She's a DDH-03, but I wanted to make her look more like a combination of Mariko's lips with DDH-08's eyes.)

I figured a closed eye head would be easier to work, but I wasn't sure about how thick the vinyl was around the eyes.

Opening close-eyed heads is something people do pretty often, so while it may be a bit tedious to shave the vinyl down, it's definitely possible.

 

A note on the 03's mouth: the philtrum sticks WAY out on the 03, so you might want to plan sanding that down too. On the upside, I sanded the philtrum on my 03 girl, and discovered it actually gave her a bit of a subtle cupid's bow!

This should get interesting since my only experience has been with Obitsu heads. (I heavily modified the 'Obitsu designer head'.) Now I just need to know if the vinyl on a dollfie dream head is different from the obitsu heads in any way.

The only Obitsu I have is actually an Azone Homura, but as far as I can tell the vinyl isn't drastically different for the heads--the DD heads may be a wee bit softer. (The Obitsu 50cm torso pieces are different, much softer, but the heads don't have nearly the same amount of difference in texture.)
