After School Akihabara Girls DD Ruri Release!

I can't wait to see photos of her. I really liked those shoes....Can the doll stand in them?

I'm excited to see owner photos of her! I really want to see if her face looks any less like an 09 in person.

I really like her! Her sculpt reminds me of Aoko and Tohsaka Rin put together. And her default outfit calls to me Though I did laugh about her wearing heels with striped ankle socks Would love to try for her should I have the funds in time, but otherwise I'll just have to enjoy owner pics

 

A friend on Instagram got her from Akiba the day of the release (yay!). She's super adorable, but she does not come with Espresso. I repeat, Ruri does not come with the Jewish Vampire Kitty.

 

Her pamphlet does say that her hoodie is "inspired by" Espresso.

Huh. Her face comes off a lot different in user pics. She's still adorable but she's probably not as good of a choice for Elisandra as I thought.

Geez Volks, yet again you advertise a new girl with something that she doesn't come with even tho it's shown in almost all the promo pics. Schmucks.

I don't think so. As far as I know, he came with the Mariko Summer Festival ver and that's it. It would have made a lot more sense for him to come with Ruri instead of Mariko in a yukata. Not only style-wise, but he's the rival of Moe's Cappucino, and THAT version of Mariko is 5-10 years younger than her current self. Maybe Cappucino and Espresso are supposed to be like Hello Kitty or Little Twin Stars and have been around forever.

 

Ruri also doesn't come with any pins for her it bag. It would have been amazing if Volks could have at least included a DD sized strap or pin of the magical girl characters that the gang cosplay.

[/quote] Well to Volks credit they've always done promo shots of girls with items they don't come with so this isn't a new thing. Also the scan from Volks News did show that she didn't come with Espresso. I think he was mainly in the shots to remind you "Hey her hoodie looks like him!" Though I wouldn't be surprised if Volks later down the line sells Espresso on his own. They did this with Sorbet who came with Melty so it could happen. Yeah when I first planned to enter (then later won) Mariko Festival Ver. I read the page and saw Ruri mentioned and kept waiting for her appearance It did take quite awhile but she's finally real!

Hnng. I want her so badly, but I really can't justify buying her. ;__;

 

Out of everything, though, I think I'm most interested in her outfit. If anyone gets her and doesn't want the outfit (doubtful), I'm willing to buy.

Huh... it's interesting to see Volks using so much color in their Face-ups recently. DDh-11 also has red eyeshadow. I think it's a nice change.

This is the first time I've wanted a new girl in a while. I'm rather bummed she doesn't come with the extra props, I should have known it was too good to be true.

I love taking dolls portraits and such angles in photo. i've some other wigs at home so if you want, I can do more wig tests! ^^ Since it's dark when I leave and when I come back to home, I'm mostly taking photos on weekends.

About the eyes, I'm looking for the new eye system Volks getting restocked. But I'll probably try some eyes this weekend.
